Singing Onstage is an absolute treasure and is one of the best things about having moved from Madison, WI to State College, PA. We are so lucky to have such talented, dedicated, creative, enthusiastic and nurturing people as the Biever family in our kids' lives. I cannot emphasize how important SoS has been for our children's development. Think of all of the skills that musical theater instills: courage to overcome stage fright; confidence that is earned from knowing your part backwards and forwards; teamwork - helping your castmates achieve their best performance; coordination - the physical skills required to move fluidly; vocal projection - how to use the power of your voice to communicate; empathy - the ability to see the world through your character's eyes; creativity - learning how writers and composers can build entire worlds with words and notes; social skills - how to support and be supported by your castmates, how to use humor and grace during challenging times, how to celebrate together when the show is over. And somehow, the Bievers have managed to do all of this through a pandemic - with safety and sensitivity. Couldn't be...
Read moreWe all look for opportunities to invest in our children to help them become the best possible version of themselves. Singing Onstage has made a difference for our children. In particular, it helped our son manage challenges with attention, lower anxiety, increase resilience, and grow his confidence. The best part is that their teaching (and personal ethos) is rooted in the Disney-esque notion that "if you can dream it, you can do it." How great is that?!?
The side-effect of Singing Onstage, of course, is that my children are learning foundational skills in art performance and art appreciation - something they will carry with them for the rest of their...
Read moreA year ago I never would have thought that my daughter would be performing in musicals in front of others. She is very shy and has never been interested. Heidi invited her to try out one of her classes and she has been hooked ever since! She is not performing in her 5th show! Heidi has a special gift to make each child in her program feel special and confident. She knows you and your family by name no matter how many children she is currently working with. She is gentle and kind with each child. She has the patience of a saint! Singing on Stage has been a huge blessing in our lives and I recommend it to anyone I meet. My daughter has gained so much confidence by being in this program and it has opened up a whole new world for her with a newfound love for Theatre. We highly, highly recommend this studio and if you’re on the fence just give it a try. You won’t regret it! Thank you Heidi and the rest of the Singing on...
