KFC — Restaurant in State College

I wish that zero stars was an option because I'd give zero!! Tonight we arrived at KFC for dinner. The restaurant was supposed to be open until 9pm. When we arrived, just before 8:30, everything was already shut down. There were many other people trying to buy food as well. I watched the manager count her drawer at drive through not long after 8:30. I watched the manager wait for a group of motorcycles, who were trying to get food, leave the parking lot. When she saw it was safe, she rushed an employee out the door. I asked why they were shut down, that we tried drive through, nobody responded and we were making a mobile order. She got nasty and said that it would be half an hour because they had already shut down for the night. At this point it wasn't even 8:40. I asked her what the district manager's name and number were, and the manager slammed the door in my face. I tried both doors and they laughed from inside. Another customer pulled up and we were talking about how the manager turned the restaurant lights back on after I asked for the district manager's name. Then, while I was talking to the other customer, the police showed up ... because, I'm sure, in an attempt to cover her ass, the manager called the police on us!! The manager lied and said I was outside banging on the doors and they were scared lmao!! The police officer was extremely nice and let us leave. We took pictures, video, there were KFC cameras, and multiple customers at this point. Needless to...

Well i feel like a broken record about food quality. I dont have anything to complain about other than it was all very mediocre. The lady who waited on us must of left her personality in her other work pants because she had no expression of any kind very much a robot and didnt seem thrilled that she had to wait on us. Took a bit of confusion to place a simple order. My wife got a Bowl and i got a chicken sandwich no fries no drink it was 18$ i just got a sandwich. The mash potatos are straight fake mashed potatos no doubt about that and my chicken sandwich was way to peppery it had a ton of pepper in the breading seemed more than usual and it seemed like it had been sitting for a bit and my wifes bowl had a darkish tint that just didnt look appealing all for 18$ and i wont be back i will stick to Chic Fila just a whole level better than KFC. Sick of paying for garbage which you dont see the companies sending in a few people to retrain everyone to bring standards up to par so that tells me they expect to keep selling garbage and charging top dollar for it. Ill pass ill take my money home because most of these people that own these companies that get uber rich dont care about us and i dont want to support a company that finds acceptable to sell sub-par quality for top dollar i just wont buy it there are...

While visiting this particular KFC, several things were noted. Yes, it was a Penn State graduating weekend, but they were not packed with people. The staff was rather cordial and seemed to want to help. But two issues arose. The first was that they got our order incorrect. They didn't provide sauces we asked for, and we were shorted two individual sides of mac n cheese. We promptly went up and asked for both. Upon inspection, we discovered that all of our mac n cheese was about only one-half full. The other issue was that the self-dispensing soda machine was not working. Ordinarily I would chalk that up to some pandemic restrictions or other, but the inconvenience of a refill each time was bothersome. Now, that said, the food was cooked well, but the portions were quite small. With this avian flu issue out here, that could help explain it. But it certainly wasn't to par as other KFCs don't seem to have issues making their competitive chicken sandwich at least remotely fit the bun (chicken was only half the size of the bun, no kidding). So, while I despise having to give a lower rating to such friendly folk, of whom I know this isn't many of their fault, I'd have to say the experience was a three point fours stars. Perhaps it was just the day. Who knows. Give em a shot and see...
