One of the worst costumer service I experienced so far and not even a clean food with hairs being found. First, they look down on people who order less expensive menu. For example, the lady just hung up on me when I asked for clarification about lunch box. Second, they are not a clean restaurant with hairs being found.
I have been visiting this place for several years for their lunchbox and at one day I happen to call them for lunch box on Sunday. The lady who usually take my order responded to me with a very low voice saying something that sounded like they don’t do lunch box on Sunday and because I couldn’t hear her clearly I politely asked again “I am sorry so no lunchbox on Sunday?” and then she just hangs up. It seems that she has no willingness to communicate with costumer. It is almost as if a costumer can not even ask a question or ask for her to repeat because of her low voice. She completely closes door for further communication. Unless costumer just completely follows her lead and be perfect in understanding her low voice, she will likely shout the door of communication. No restaurants should treat a costumer like that when they are just asking for clarification. How am I supposed to know their own rule regarding when I can place order on specific thing and when I can not order specific thing?
Also, before, when I usually go in for lunch box, she was not happy about the fact that I always get lunchbox instead of their big menus. But considering how often I visit them, she shouldn’t be judging me just because I don’t get their expensive menu. This is a restaurant that looks down on people who don’t get expensive menu regardless of how often you use them. It’s not like I am getting their food for free as charity or something. I am paying them my money to get their food and yet they don’t understand how valuable their costumers are!
Also before, I found hair in their beef teriyaki bento box. I was eating my white rice and then this black curly hair gets found in the rice. But at that time I didn’t make a issue out of it just because I didn’t want to argue with restaurant I visit often and just decided to think that it was a mistake I can let go. But when the lady shows no respect to a costumer who frequently visit them, I came to a conclusion that it’s not worth it to continue to bare with them.
This restaurant is not the only place to get sushi in state college so don’t go to this place unless you can always afford to please them with big and expensive menu order and if you are okay with some...
Read moreThis is probably some of the worst service and food I've ever received. Imagine walking into a completely desolate restaurant, there is one cook, there are random backpacks strewn across tables, amazon boxes litter the corners of this establishment. This is what you will experience if you go to Sakura Steak House. Atmosphere, 2/10, not dissimilar to a dank, moldy barn that just happened to be submerged in sea water. Service, 0/10 let me just say it took us 55 minutes to get our food when almost no one else was in the restaurant at the same time. And most importantly, food, -100/10, to start off, most of the dishes that we ordered came with miso soup. There were 8 of us, and we ALL GOT DIFFERENT MISO SOUP. There were four with clear broth, four with cloudy broth, some had mushrooms, some had tofu, and not one was similar to the other. NOT ONLY was the soup wildly not uniform, the soup tasted like someone had washed their feet in it. The smell alone was unbearable. Next up, the entrees. Everyone in my party agreed that the food had an underlying taste of mold. Every single sauce was overly sweet and gummy. You could only palette a few bites of whatever food before feeling sickly. The food was lukewarm, tasted and smelled of a 3 century old mummified wet dog, and has a texture that offends the mouth. Overall 0/10 I usually don't write reviews but this place was SO BAD, I just had too. When a dirty washcloth sits in the sink for too long and starts to smell... this restaurant embodies that feeling. I can't give this place a 0 star, so I'll unfortunately have to settle...
Read moreHad heard good things about Sakura take out, but last night gets an F. Ordered online at 5:30 for 6:30 pick up. At 6:30 I get in a socially distanced line with masks waiting to pick-up inside the door one person at a time. So far so good. My turn to step inside:
No employees masked except the woman bringing out take orders. Another maskless employee talking on the phone and both sushi chefs without masks.
When I gave my name there was a delay, then she brings a printout of my order which I confirm is correct. She says 1 minute. I stand inside among maskless employees for 5 minutes. A takeout order is brought to the table I am standing in front of but she says it's not mine. The next customer walks in mask under nose to pick up and pay for his order.
At this point it's clear they had never started my order and were only preparing it now (1 hour 15 minutes since order was placed) but no communication from staff.
4.I step outside to wait as I am growing uncomfortable with exposure inside and the lack of social distancing at the pickup table. Finally dashed in to pick up my or order 30 minutes after I arrived.
Never going back. It's unsafe and...
