I wish them luck! Our first time visiting with friends. The four of us were looking forward to brunch but were mostly disappointed. I ordered the Turkey Pastrami sandwich. The description states a toasted bun with “stacked arugula” … below Look at the photo below and see there is only one slice of pastrami on the bun, which could have been sliced from a slab you would buy at your local grocery store. Two more slices of meat and I might have been happy. The tomato was the size of a large half dollar. You can see by the size of the fork that the sandwich, which was halved, was quite small. When questioning about the amount of meat I was told that that is a “more traditional” sandwich. That response alone made me feel like an idiot. No establishment should place one thin slice of meat on a sandwich and then tell you it is a “more traditional” presentation. Our friends ordered the Mediterranean Salad and the Menemen. The salad toward the end had to be eaten with a spoon, and the Menemen was notably lacking enough egg to even be noticed. I admit the Ayvalik Toast sandwich our last guest ordered was very good, a proper portion with noticeable meat. Service was good. The place is clean and inviting. I wish the food and the high...
Read moreWe were excited to try this place since it’s a new concept in town and decided to order “The Spread” ($58), thinking it would give us the full experience.
We were initially seated by a waiter, but two minutes later, we were asked to get up because the table was apparently meant for another group. We then waited about 15 minutes for a new table (it was 11:48 AM by then). When we finally placed our order for The Spread, we were told it wasn’t available after 12 PM—despite it still being before noon. After some back and forth, they agreed to take our order.
The food was okay—not particularly authentic—and each dish was extremely small. The overall value felt closer to $25, not $58.
Service was also lacking. We weren’t given water until we asked, and even then, it took 10 minutes to arrive. We asked for a second round of bread three times and waited another 10 minutes for just three small slices, which they charged $3 for. By that point, we had lost our appetite. We ended up leaving nearly half our food and the bread behind. With such small portions and so much variety, taking leftovers wasn’t really an option.
Overall, it was a decent one-time experience, but we won’t be returning due to the pricing, portion sizes, and...
Read moreWhen I travel, I love finding unique restaurants and this place was a great find! Excellent coffee options, including Turkish coffee. My only disappointment was to find out they don’t serve their breakfast options all day on the weekends (I was really in the mood for breakfast) but I opted for their Mediterranean platter that pretty much came with a smaller portion of most of their featured menu items. The meatballs were my favorite and highly recommend them! The soup was very flavorful and had croutons and a drizzle of oil that added to the taste and texture.
The service is beyond friendly! I witnessed all the servers really making sure their guests were feeling welcomed and appreciated.
The decor is unique too. Bright colors and faux windows definitely give you a Mediterranean vibe. There is also a very relaxing lounge area with couches to enjoy your coffee.
All in all, great experience and will be back when I am back...
