DISAPPOINTED. I can’t express how terrible of an experience this was. First, the host acted as if hosting wasn’t even her job. Terrible attitude. Second, and most importantly we got there around 3 pm on a Saturday, fairly busy but with all the workers walking around doing nothing you wouldn’t think this was an issue. We were seated at a table, when the waitress approached us I felt rushed to decide what I wanted to drink. It was mine and my husbands first date out in months due to our son and lots of things going on, ya know, life. So we were going to order a cocktail. She hovered over us and basically made us feel rushed to order a drink. My husband ended up just getting a sweet tea, I panic ordered and just ordered a bud light. We didn’t have time to even look over the cocktail menu which is ironic in this whole situation given the reason that we left without EVEN ORDERING AN APPETIZER. The waitress took our drink order and said “I’ll be right back to take your appetizer order” I kid you not, she never came back. Someone else, not our waitress, brought us our drinks and the loaf of bread. We sat there for literally THIRTY MINUTES. She never returned. We drank our drinks and ate our bread and waited about 15 more minutes. She literally never came back. 45 minutes we waited. We got up to leave, went to the host desk to at least pay for my SIX DOLLAR beer and who I’m assuming was the manager was there, she was fairly rude and hasty as well. She seemed shocked. Out of nowhere comes out waitress. Shocker. She seemed surprised that we were leaving. I couldn’t believe it. She apologized and tried to give some excuse that quite frankly after waiting 45 minutes to put the APPETIZER order in, I didn’t have time to hear. It would have been totally different if we would have AT LEAST got to put our order in. Waiting on food to cook is one thing. Waiting 45 minutes for service is another. We walked out roughly 3:50 pm. No appetizer, no entree and no desert. Barely a drink. Ended up going right down the road to the Chinese buffet. Quick and easy, luckily because we did have a babysitter to pay. This is the second time I have had a bad experience here at the Statesville Outback. I will never go back. Logan’s...
Read moreMy husband and I visited on Valentines Day for what we thought would be a nice dinner... now we understood how busy it would probably be but we made reservations and hoped for the best. Let me start by saying that we are very understanding and not needy in general when we dine out- as I am a former waitress myself. That being said, this was a mess of a dinner. They seated us in a space where they must have pulled a table out last minute and just shoved it in any space available to accommodate guests because as we arrived to our table it was in between two diagonal tables with both of our chairs touching the backs of others. Very weird and not intimate. Our waitress did not come to our table for 20 minutes, I know because I timed it after waiting over 10 minutes. When she came she took our drink order. Didn't see her for 30 minutes afterward. Finally our drinks arrive, and she complains that the machine had too many other employees around it and she couldn't get our drinks. I call bullshit. Anyways, we place our food orders and sure enough, she's gone for 40 minutes. She arrives with our salads and bread with another story. We eat our bread and salads and low and behold, miss Thang is missing in action for another 30 minutes. No drink refills, no nothing. She comes with our food and we ask her for drink refills, making bets to how long it'd be since the phantom of the opera shows back up. 30 mins. Yep, folks. You read that right. 2 hours and some minutes later we are done with this hell hole of a date, and we ask another waitress for the check as well as a manager. She brings us the check, no manager and after 10 mins we cut our losses we leave cash and scoot on out. Mind you, the other waitresses surrounding us with far more tables to serve got everyone's drinks on time, refills, food, checking in.... ours had our table and 2 others (the ones who's backs hit ours) and made up every excuse in the book each time she appeared. She gave similar bs sob stories to everyone else. Needless to say, our three tables were pissed when we left. Happy...
Read moreI hate to be the one to come on here and have good experiences multiple times here picking up an order but then one bad one happens and I'll leave a review. But when you're paying good money for food you expect good service every time. I went to pick up my food tonight and no one would come outside. There were two other cars parked and I noticed one lady finally got out and walked up to the curb side door and just got her food. Then there was another guy beside me that hopped out and got his. It wasn't until I opened my door that I could hear him and another girl that works there arguing and he told her that she needs to "do her job honey". I only caught the end of it but she went inside and the manager come flying out fast as possible. Only if they had this mentality to bring the food out that fast then there wouldn't be a problem. But what hurts me is I had to get out of my car in the rain and walk up to the door to get my food also. Why do I pay a tip? I understand sometimes there can be problems but it's like no one wanted to bring the food out. I just don't understand the concept of everyone asking for tips now on top of 20 plus dollar meals and then only to have to self serve. Anyways I caught the end of them arguing and I assumed he was ticked off about the same thing I was which is sitting there waiting on his food. To make matters worse I got home and my steak was so tough I could barely eat it. I ended up giving half of it to my dog. But honestly I was scared my dog might choke on it no joke. You need to get your stuff together if you want to be a decently high-end restaurant in Statesville. Like I said usually my meals are pretty good but I expect to get good service and food every time if I'm paying this type of money. Not one time should there ever...
