I wanted to treat myself to something different. Then it hit me... That Indian place across the street. I went online to look at the menu. I ordered... Lamb Boti Kebab Masala, Garlic and Keema Naan. Since I was ordering it to go, I was told to come back in 15 minutes. When I walked in the door, 5 steps in I could smell my order. I don't like spicy foods, so I was asked how spicy did I want it. Let me tell you... It was and had the right amount of spiciness. Not too much and not too little. I couldn't wait until I got home. From my porch I can see the restaurant. I made me a plate, and I tried very hard not to lick my spoon. I didn't. I sat down with a sugar free Sprite and... OMG!! The smells, and the taste. Before I knew it, my plate was empty. But I didn't go back for a second plate. I broke everything down into three more servings. Right now I have one more serving left. The food is very tasty. The last time I had Indian food was in 1989. I was working for a guy who owned a news stand in Parkchester tarin station in The Bronx. I brought comic books from him, and one day he asked me could I help him out. He taught me how to run the Lotto Machine. I made a lot of mistakes, and I purchased these tickets. I won a lot of times from my mistakes also. He invited me out to dinner, but he ordered and didn't bother to ask me did I like spicy food. My forehead was sweating, but I still enjoyed the meal. This restaurant and it's food reminded me of the time...with David. David isn't with us anymore... But I ate a forkful for him. I surely going back to this restaurant. I want to try everything in the menu.

November 15, 2024 - In the mood for fine Indian cuisine, with a “ with spicy heat” that your taste buds can handle . . . Delicious ! “A Taste of India” doesn’t seem to be a trademark brand . . . I counted 67 restaurants across the U.S. with this name. Almost every state has at least one such restaurant, with the exception of ND, MD, and HI . My wife and I enjoyed our Anniversary dinner in Staunton, VA ‘s “ A Taste of India”! 😃👍🏼 We arrived at opening 5 pm , not crowded yet. Our server, Rom guided us through the menu selections. We started with a combo basket with 4 or 5 types of NAAN bread! Then a red wine blend for $7 a glass. . . medium bodied and very tasty . As the wine & bread arrived, we ordered our entrees. My wife selected Salmon Tikki Masala, medium heat level. I order a Chef special Tandoori Mixed Grill , with chicken Tikki, Shrimp, Borti Kebab, Lamb , and Chicken Tandoori kebab, at medium heat level. ( I asked to swap out the fish for lamb, Rom our server 👍🏼 approved) About 12 minutes later, our sizzling platters arrived at our table! The heat level “tingled our tastebuds”, perfect with the Naan , and red wine. . . Wonderful Anniversary meal😃👍🏼 Kudos to the chef, they pledge “fresh ingredients & spices, cooked to perfection”! Thank you ! 🙏🏻 Off to Waynesboro Theater for an Everly Brothers Set of music ! Fun Facts - Indian Cuisine 😃🍤👍🏼 * 7 Indian Chefs currently with Michelin Stars in world * Garima Arora only female Indian Chef with Michelin Star * Vikas Khanna Indian Chef at Junoon in NY with 7 years straight won Michelin Star * Over 5,000 Indian restaurants in U.S.

My friends and I were walking downtown and decided to stop by Taste of India for supper. The place was packed, which let us know that we made a good choice! We were seated and the staff gave us water and took our orders. I appreciated that he let us know that the food would take a little while to come out. We were in no rush so this was perfectly fine with us. When we got our food, we were amazed. One of us ordered the lamb jalfrezie (mild) and the peshawari naan. The lamb came in a deep red sauce with vegetables. The naan was stuffed with coconut, raisins, and nuts. It was very flavorful and not overly sweet. The naan accompanied well with the sauce of the lamb. Another one of us ordered the chicken curry with the chicken naan. She got it with medium spice. The chicken naan had a good amount of chicken and the curry was full of flavor and not overly spicy. I ordered the chicken korma and aloo naan. The sauce for my chicken was sooooo good and savory. It came with a good amount of chicken in it. The aloo naan had potatoes and peas and was very hearty. For the table, there was a platter of rice. There was more than enough for us to share. For the portion of food we ordered, the price was more than reasonable. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here!
