I love brunch food, have been in so many good spots around America and was excited to be here as it just look lovely with high review. Got the server that might look like manager, I think so cause all others seem like young college girls. She tried to push things go fast, I didn't have time to think about my option. My egg benedict is decent, well seasoning but the taste of hollandaise sauce is not there. Within the whole menu, don't ask for salad in here as it is just spinach no dressing/topping, bread is super blanch just 2 sandwich slap with cheese for my friend dish which cost $20. Their soup is good but too small for the price. When I asked her to split the bill after she gave the whole table receipt, she gave me attitude like why I ask for that, thanks to her not asking how we want to do the bill before giving out the receipt. For the service that I was feeling no welcoming, hospitality, (I was the first one to pay) and gave $5 tip for my $40 part, if you did serve me nicely or even standard server do, I'm a very easy person to tip $10 on a 40 bill. But you are not. And she said out loudly like wanting everyone in the room to know about she only get $5. My friend who came with me feel the embrassment and scared of her so they all just to tip more than they want to. A table of 6 dine in-out for 45 mins brunch time, if everyone tip $5 for their part, you get $30, and you asking for more you better be nicer. Since when did server look at the tap to know how much client tip them, tip to show my appreciation for your job, even you made me feel unwelcome, I still tip than no tip but with that attitude, I better get my receipt back and put $0 on. I'm working in service industry, I do appreciate tip but it just goes too...
Read moreWent to Steamboat for the first time for a weekend getaway with my husband. We chose Creekside after reading their Google reviews and looking at their menu and it did not disappoint. So much so that we went two days in a row. We even had the same server both days and he remembered us (shout out JP). We sat outside in their back patio yesterday and chose to sit inside today. The patio has great seating along the creek, inside is cozy and quaint. First time I had the Santa Fe omelet, and the hubs had corned beef hash, we shared the banana nutella sandwich. All were delicious. I love omelets but sometimes restaurants just throw raw vegetables in them and some cheese and call it a day. Not here, the veggies were sautéed and seasoned and the omelet was so fluffy. My husband raved about the corned beef hash, and that nutella sandwich was a glutenous treat to share.
Today we had what JP suggested yesterday - we shared a full order Cowboy Downhill Benedict with the green chili grits and again shared the banana nutella sandwich. Once again there was no disappointment. The green chili grits served in a crock had this layer of broiled cheese on top and was the perfect amount of heat from the green chiles, could have been a little thicker for grits but flavor made up for it. Still wouldn't knock any stars off for that.
Oh and I forgot we had vanilla lattes and those were such creamy goodness. All in all a great place to eat, friendly service and location is everything! We have already said when we come back to Steamboat this is going to be our go to breakfast spot. I know there are probably other great places to eat but when you find something special it's hard to not...
Read moreWe had our entire baseball team and parents eating inside this restaurant. We are in town to play in a tournament and had just finished a double header that morning. We headed to lunch as a team and my family (3 people) got delayed because my player had been battling son issues that morning and I felt it would be curtious to take him back the condo to get him cleaned up. When we arrived about 20 minutes after the last table was seated...and we have at least 7 tables of people if not more....I was told that because we had not be seated with the original parties we would have to wait for our own table. Looking at the multiple empty chairs at each table I realized it did not matter to them that we could easily slide right in and get ordered up. They didn't have any food yet...but instead...the hostess felt it was best or it is their policy to not allow groups to eat together after Parton the party had been seated. Then she gave me these puppy dog eyes when I told her we were leaving. Funny how you want us in your town to spend money but refuse to help us feel included as a group or accommodate our needs. So, instead of making a scene I choose to right a review. I believe that my group had so many issues with the food that the owner came out and cried at the table. Glad I missed it and I do not recommend. Not friendly at all. Unable to tell you what the...
