Falafel & Amba in Sterling Heights is hands down one of the coziest spots you’ll find around Detroit. The place has a real family atmosphere—you walk in and immediately feel like you’re about to sit down at someone’s kitchen table. The falafel is the star of the show, crispy on the outside and soft inside, served fresh and full of flavor. What makes it special is the way they let you mix it up: you can build sandwiches with falafel, fries, eggplant, and all the fixings, then top it off with their signature Amba sauce, which gives everything that sweet, tangy kick you didn’t know you needed. It’s not just falafel, it’s a full-on experience of flavors stacked together the way Middle Eastern street food is supposed to taste. The restaurant is clean and inviting, with friendly staff who make you feel welcome and keep the energy relaxed, even when it gets busy. Prices are fair for the big portions you get, and it’s the kind of place you can bring the whole family to without breaking the bank. Whether you’re stopping in for lunch or dinner, or grabbing a sandwich to go, this is a spot that keeps you coming back for that perfect balance of comfort food and authenticity.

Food is insanely delicious and spot on their texture/authenticity ! The amba sauce has a mango+mustard based tangy-spicy kick while the black sauce is a spicy tamarind-based sauce. Best falafel ever ! The falafel mix somehow pairs well with boiled eggs. Don't forget to try the dry lemon juice or the apricot juice. Again, the texture was mind-blowing ! The dry lemon juice is nothing like lemonade, more like slightly sweet juice with strong lemon kick.

First of all they are new and it will take some time for them to improve and thats why I am giving the 4 stars. Falafel was little dry and lack of taste. The reason behind it is because they apply amba sauce right on the veggies not the falafel. Also the bread was not as fresh ( i would recommend making the bread in house to increase quality). Maybe adding red turnips inside the sandwich would make a difference. I ate my sandwich as I was driving and man the sandwich was falling a part as it made a big mess. The owner should read the reviews to improve his business as customer’s opinion makes a difference. Will try them again to see if the quality changes. Over all, good customer service, clean place, good prices, and wide selections of food. I only tried the falafel as this place is advertised as a...
