This restaurant is an outstanding example of how a most unassuming place can serve a most delectable meal. I say "unassuming" since it looked more like a corner mom-and-pop restaurant with the most basic furniture and a ridiculously rudimentary menu book (it was actually a card).

However, every dish we ordered outdid the other. Though we couldn't taste every item in the menu, from our experience of what we had, it was a clear indication that it would be next to impossible to single out one or a group of items over the others.

The interior decor, though not the best in the world, is worth an honorable mention. The ambience was good enough to convey the warmth of the place.

Most importantly, however  the place seemed understaffed, with only two servers, who were almost at their wits end, trying to make ends meet. I kept wondering why the establishment, despite knowing how busy the place was, chose not to increase their manpower.

At this point, I'd like to add that the place was crazy busy, not only by way of its sit-in clients, but also because of a constant stream of take-out customers. That was not surprising, given the quality of the food they served, and for which the restaurant was open till midnight (whereas most other eating places in that part of the city usually closes at 8 or 9 pm).

The cherry on top of the cake was our server Salma, who, besides being knowledgeable and courteous, almost singlehandedly kept all her customers happy.

A visit to this restaurant is highly recommended, at least for the quality of the...

Halal Thai Spot**

If you're in Michigan and looking for the best Halal Thai food, look no further than My Thai. Nestled in the heart of town, this restaurant delivers an unforgettable culinary experience that marries authentic Thai flavors with Halal-certified dishes. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, My Thai is a must-visit.

We had the pleasure of trying a variety of their dishes, and each one was a hit. The Pad Thai noodles were perfectly cooked, with a wonderful balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors. The stir-fried noodles came with a generous portion of protein options and a rich peanut sauce that tied the dish together.

Their fried rice was fluffy, aromatic, and full of vibrant ingredients, while the Thai curry had a creamy, mildly spiced sauce that was packed with fresh herbs and bold flavors. If you’re a fan of curry, this dish is an absolute must-try. We also sampled their soup, which was flavorful and comforting—an ideal starter to warm you up before the main course.

From the impeccable service to the authentic and delicious dishes, My Thai truly stands out as a top destination for Halal Thai cuisine. With its wide range of flavorful offerings, it's no wonder why this restaurant has earned a 10/10 in my book. Whether you’re a fan of Thai food or looking to try something new, you won’t be...

I’ll start with the good part. We visit My Thai Halal Kitchen fairly often and stick to our usual order which is, basil fried rice with chicken (medium spice) and green curry with chicken (medium spice). The food here is very good and the portions are also generous. Authentic? I don’t think so.. but I’ll go as far as saying it’s one of the better tasting faux Thai restaurants, in the area. Now the not-so-good, every time we eat here we know that we’re guaranteed to get hit with pretty bad stomach pains and spend a significant portion of the next day running back and forth to the bathroom. I’m not sure what you put in the food and it’s not just me, a lot of friends and family members have said the same remarks. I’ve been to countless other places across metro Detroit that are significantly more authentic; (as in not Bangladeshi run or claiming to be Thai) and yet I’ve never have such issues with the food. Like are you leaving some of the ingredients such as coconut milk out for too long where it could possibly be getting spoiled? I guess we’ll never know… I’ll probably be back albeit less frequently, but I think it’s time my bowels take a break from here and try other places in...

We recently had lunch at My Thai Restaurant and tried a variety of dishes. The standout was the Bangkok seafood combo, which was delicious and flavorful, though it had fewer seafood items than expected. The Pad Thai chicken noodles were also very good, offering a unique and tasty flavor. The Pad Ped beef had an authentic Thai taste that we appreciated. However, we were disappointed with the rice dishes. Both the My Thai fried rice and chicken fried rice tasted stale, and some of us felt sick after eating them. Additionally, we could smell the burn of the rice. The drunken noodles were average and didn’t meet our expectations this time. Serving food that isn't freshly cooked, especially rice, is a major concern. Freshness should be prioritized to ensure a better dining experience. Even though they didn't provide the spoon with rice and noodles.
