Passport Pizza — Restaurant in Sterling Heights

UPDATE- AUG 10, 2017_ i ordered the square deep dish pizza 2nite with a 1/2 off coupon _ good thing it was 1/2 off- because it was 1/2 the pizza it used 2 b _ i don't think it was any thicker than a hand tossed round pizza. had 2 eat twice as many pieces 2 b satisfied - i include pics_ SO - this is the 3rd time in a row i've ordered from PassPort and their food has been DISAPPOINTING - I won't order from them again. 2 bad- they used 2 b good. but 3 bad experiences in a row proves they r no longer good enuf.

UPDATE: FEB 26 2017_ i ordered again from the Passport on 19 mile in Sterling Heights_ they sent me an email coupon with medium rounds available for $5 until end of FEB_ i ordered 2 medium rounds with pepperoni and parmesan cheese crusts_ i got 1 pizza without the parmesan cheese_ and the other pizza with a HAIR in the 1st slice i pulled out_ if U look at the pics- u can see me holding the hair up in 1 of them.the pizza was similar to little caesar's on a bad day. it actually tasted better out of the refrigerator the following day. ** that's 2 delivery orders in a row_ from the Passport Pizza on 19 mile in Sterling Heights_ that have been BELOW average.--what's going on 19 mile Passport? I've ordered from Sterling Heights PassPort (19 Mile) many times in the past- and it has always been very good to excellent_ which is why i ordered from them again 2nite.

I was UN-pleasantly disappointed. i placed the order thru PassPort's online ordering_ usually i order thru GrubHub.

The pizza-stix-salad arrived on time or maybe a few minutes late- didn't bother me- because in the past they've always been quick-polite- and delivered hot food hot and cold food cold_

BUT 2nite the pizza and stix arrived luke warm- boxes without foil or other lining- so grease was seeping thru the bottoms onto the counter- and the pizza bottom was actually soggy_ (again- 1st time i've received a disappointing order)

the individual sized chef salad was packaged in a small plastic clam-shell- packed completely full_ so u can't eat the salad out of the container- in fact- when u open the container the salad will fall out_ will have 2 transfer to another bowl to eat, add dressing and toss. (haven't eaten the salad yet - but it looked fine.)

_ there is some good news_ i took out my Hamilton Beach sandwich grill- placed a couple slices of the deep dish pizza and a few of the stix on it_ and within 5 minutes the pizza was hot and crisped up_ and TASTED GREAT__ But when U R used 2 getting the product hot, delicious and ready 2 eat- it's disappointing 2 get it soggy, lukewarm and having 2 take the time 2 heat it up.

Will I order from them again ? YES - everyone can have an off night_ PassPort has delivered quality product 2 me 9 out of 10 times_ even my mom's food/cooking wasn't good all the time- we R only human

Chasing a Dragon

So last week my wife and I ordered two pizzas. We both had the ranch-afredo sauced pizzas with different toppings. She had the chicken alfredo, I asked for the broccoli, cheddar, and chicken but they called and said they were out of broccoli so I subbed it with green pepper. These were some of the best pizzas we both had eaten in quite awhile. Totally 5 stars worthy. Fluffy, crisp crust with a nice tough edge. hearty amount of cheese, but not too much. The chicken was moist and delicious. Everything was perfect.

So much so we ordered the same thing the next day when we found we hadn't eaten dinner after a hectic day, and we could send the leftovers for lunch the next. Again, no broccoli. I asked this time, is broccoli ever available? Short answer, no. They don't order it from the truck, and they rarely buy it from the store. So why is this on a specialty pizza? The pizza from the second day was vastly different from the first. The cheese was scarce. The chicken was dry as a desert. The dough was flat and unremarkable. Even the ranch-alfredo sauce seemed different, almost flavorless.

Last night we gave it another go. My wife had the same chicken alfredo pizza. It was almost back up to snuff, other than it was loaded with overly-salty Parmesan cheese. This time, I didn't even bother asking for the broccoli-chicken pizza, due to my failure of getting it the last two times. I just asked for the chicken cheddar alfredo with spinach. The gal tells me on the phone to just get the chicken spinach garlic pizza, because it's the same thing with the same toppings and it'll cost less. Sounds fair, sure! It was not. Completely different sauce. It comes with a garlic sauce, not the ranch-alfredo. This was not the pizza I wanted.

So really, I've tried ordering a pizza 3 times in the 3 times I've ordered from here, and never had the pizza I've ordered. While they have been pretty good overall, I find it pretty darn frustrating I've never gotten what I've ordered, and never had consistent service or products the 3 times in a week...

I really like the pizza from Passport. I rarely ever order from here though because they ALWAYS screw something up. I decided tonight to give it another shot. I placed an order online for delivery at 6:15 for dinner for my family. The pizza was delivered at 5:30. Now, it will sit and get cold for 45 minutes before my family is home and able to eat it. I mentioned it to the driver that he was extremely early and he just laughed and walked away. I’m completely done with this place. Terrible service.

Edited to add: The corporate office or whoever monitors these reviews was very quick to follow up, which is impressive. I DID in fact receive a short time later. However, the store employee who called was aggressive, argumentative, and unapologetic. He did offer to remake and redeliver the food, but based on his demeanor, I chose not to accept because I didn’t feel that I could trust someone who was CLEARLY angry with me for my review to make and handle food for my family. I give credit where it’s due, and appreciate the higher-ups handling the situation quickly, but again the store...
