A couple years ago I used to enjoy coming here with friends and family. Even going as far to recommend this establishment to anyone who asks for a great boba place. My last few visits have been far from great.
The first incident we thought it was just a one off visit and gave them a few more chances. This last time was the worst experience of them all. I have noted repeatedly that the Sunday evening manager or shift leader is more interested in conversation and horseplay with her coworkers than the experience of the customers. This visit was no different. On average we have waited multiple times 25 minutes or more for two drinks (basic ones at that). Keep in mind most times we go there is no line. There were four employees including the manager or shift leader. My drink was overflowing and when I went to grab it from the counter it spilled everywhere and went all over my hand and the floor. I then waited and proceeded to ask for napkins. The employee in charge at the time gave me napkins and I mentioned the drink was spilling. She did not care to assist me in replacing the cup and gave me about three napkins for the mess.
It is disappointing to see the standard of customer service as someone who previously worked in food service for several years. Being that this establishment is so local to me and seeing how the service has greatly diminished over the last year and half it is sad to see how little consideration there is for the customers. Having had this occur quite a few times now, it is discouraging and unless there is a change I will not be returning in person or recommending anyone buy their boba and experiencing...
Read moreWent to the Food Festival in North Jersey today and this business was one of the Vendors. Unbelievably long lines for all stands since it was a very overcrowded event so the typical wait in line is about 30-45 mins. The event had kiosks to order ahead and pick up. I decided to order the mangonada ($10) for myself and a mango smoothie ($8) for the boyfriend. Unfortunately, still had to wait about 25 minutes in line anyways for your order to get called. After getting called...the first sip was a complete disappointment...tasted like flavored water. No exaggeration. Wondering if they were running out of syrup and was trying to stretch it to meet orders. Yes, syrup. Not real fruits. The ice is not finely blended. You can tell the blender was not the professional industrial kind since the ice was blended more like an ICEE slushie, not fine and creamy. It was like a chunkier Hawaiian Shaved ice. When you sip, the juice gets sucked up leaving you with a mountain of ice. I looked up their permanent business location which seems to look good. Maybe being mobile and not having everything they needed brought to the festival tent mightve affected their quality and flavor. I expected more out of a dessert place that seemed to have a wide variety of teas and smoothies. I think everyone that walked away after grabbing their order took a sip and shook their heads in disappointment just like my...
Read moreI finally made it out here after browsing all the pictures and menus on Yelp. It's a little bit of a tricky spot to find, just look for the cold stone it's next to that. The review is solely based on them not having the drink I wanted and what I actually ended up ordering.
The inside was very inviting with the wall of snacks and knick knacks, then a wall with "love" deco. And the employee greeted us immediately. There are just too many items to choose from for teas, snacks, etc. I originally came here to try the cheese tea, but of course, they were sold out since it's a popular drink.
Now with that being said, I was clueless as to what else I should get. I've already tasted, macarons, croffles, Etc. I ended up getting the croissant with chocolate ice cream since I've never seen that combo before. While hesitantly ordering, I was very confused about how to eat it and asked her. I originally asked her to put the ice cream on the side, but she was insistent on putting it on the croissant. She was actually super nice about the whole thing though, and gave an extra scoop since I was sharing it with someone. That was very generous of her! However I did not really enjoy the chocolate croissant only because it was very hard to eat. The croissant was very tough and we couldn't even cut it with a knife.
If I'm in the area I may return to try...
