Alma Music and Audio — Local services in Sterling

There are several HiFi stores in the DMV area. Each has strengths and carries different gear for different ears and tastes. Alma is unquestionably among the very very top. I find Alex’s knowledge of analogue reproduction (essentially a vinyl mastering chain in reverse) second to none, and his ear for organic, natural sound, unquestionably closest to mine of anywhere I have ever ventured.

As a “younger” audiophile without profound conductive hearing loss (in fact with exceptional hearing), I have found Alex to be correct on E V E R Y. S I N G L E. R E C O M M E N D A T I O N. H E. H A S. M A D E. No one else I have met, except for other YOUNGER musicians than I (as I play Jazz piano) have the ear for neutrality, body, timbral accuracy and transparency that Alex has.

No one I have ever worked with has been as consistently correct with a truer ear for synergy and system building as Alex is. I am still stunned by his ear for analogue and ability to bring the most natural, transparent, fluid presentation to an analogue reproduction...
