Cherokee Strip BBQ — Restaurant in Stillwater

Cherokee Strip used to make the best rack of ribs in Stillwater OK by far! They quit doing racks of ribs a while back much to our, and many others, disappointment. We noticed that their lunch business is down, but their dinner business has never been heavy despite the previously great Bar B Q. Not surprised as take out, specifically stabs of ribs and turkey legs (also discontinued), were a major customer draw, Cherokee Strip always sold out of both and you had to get there early (before 7:00) if you hoped to get some. Now we see they offer ribs again, but NOT a rack of ribs, just chopped up to be uniform size and amounts (their justification) of their product. Likely they buy the ribs already cut that way and don't smoke them the the slabs they were noted for.. What a huge disappointment. as the price for what you get -- uniform or not -- is way up and the ribs are way down. Cherokee Strip needs to either get back into being a serious Bar B Q, including specifically slabs of ribs, or sell out to someone who is take over! We fully expect Cherokee Strip to close under current ownership...

First and foremost the food in this place is very good, that’s what made me come back a couple more times. Now the reason for my low rating review; The first time I came I order me a sandwich and paid a little over $12, the second time my friend and I ordered the same meal (same sandwich I had order the previous time) and he paid a little over $12 and I was charged $15, my friend and I talked about it and the only difference difference was I asked for an extra sauce (which the third time I went I asked and they told me it’s free) now the last time I ordered me the same sandwich and was charged over $18, supposedly because the fries ore not part of the sandwich meal. There seems to be racism here but I leave it up to you guys decision. Also the second time I went there I seen the old guy which I think is the owner picking up food he dropped to the floor with his bare hands, he threw it in the trash and came back to work without washing his hands and handling food with...

We had seen this place several times over the years but never managed to stop in. CANT BELIEVE IT TOOK US THIS LONG TO STOP IN!! We love coming here. The staff is amazing they always offer great suggestions and excellent service. They go above and beyond ensuring you get everything you need or want. The food is traditional BBQ I will be honest here it’s not anything extraordinary but it is pretty average. It tastes good and you get a decent amount for the cost. What will keep you coming back is the people who work here. They make this place memorable and comfortable. I would rather go here then a chain BBQ or something where the food might be slightly better but service no where near what you get here.

I would highly recommend coming here and experience the amazing service and friendly people who make this establishment what it is. It’s why I will come here...
