Old School Bagel Cafe — Restaurant in Stillwater

Really gone downhill! We used to order here all the time. The past few times have been disappointing, but this time was just awful. We asked for toasted, and got burnt, some areas worse than others, I wish I had gotten pics of the other halves of these two bagels before they were thrown out, they were even worse, completely inedible, we never order the toasted x2, just toasted so there is no excuse for that. They had to have put them through the toasting process at least twice, possibly 3 times, to get them that burnt. They also used to give a decent amount of cream cheese, sometimes even too much. This time none of the bagels even had enough to cover the sides like butter, I've seen toast with more butter than these things had cream cheese! The only decent portion was the sprouts, tomatoes and cucumber, we ordered onions too and found one or 2 little slivers but not much, that we added on 2 of the bagels. But that wasn't enough to save this order and have us give yet another chance. We are done coming here, the bagels aren't good enough to put up with all the inconsistencies. Walmart now has Ray's New York Bagels everything and plain bagels in the freezer section and they are incredible! Plus with them coming frozen they keep for a while and you can pull out what you want the night before and put them in the fridge to defrost overnight. I usually move a whole package down to the fridge at a time as my daughter and I both prefer a bagel with cream cheese in the morning as opposed to most breakfast foods. I do love the cream cheese and bagels here when they are done right, unfortunately in our experience they are not done right often enough. It's pretty hard to screw up a bagel with cream cheese, js... A child could fix one. To me that shows either complete laziness, intentionally ruined food, or complete stupidity. None of those situations...

I went to Old School Bagel Cafe today and got the 4 Cheese bagel. The bagel did not have lettuce, tomato, or the extra sprouts I paid for. It was just cheese, avocado (which we added) and an over indulgence of mayo. Like a lot. When we made it home and realized what had happened, we went back to get the sandwich corrected. This is the real kicker, so we come in and I let them know what had happened. They told us that the menu has just changed and that’s why that had happened. The menu indeed did not change. (Look at my pictures) they offered to make a new Sandwich after yelling at us about how their menu has changed. And yes I mean yelled at us when we pointed out the menu hadn’t changed, online or in store. if the menu says lettuce and tomato then it should come with lettuce and tomato. We looked online before we even came in. So all in all, they messed up the Sandwich, and yelled at us the (customers) for pointing out the issue.. and the new sandwich still doesn’t even have the sprouts on it. This place used to be my go to in Stillwater, now it’s become an avoid at all cost. This bagel cafe.......I'm from New York, and all I can say is, it tastes like home again. One of the only things I miss about ny is the food. And now I don't have to miss some of that so much.The manager is so nice along with all of his employees. The decoration is relaxing and modern. They show all the bagels available and I love their menu sign. Most of the drinks are self serve. Their coffee was amazing and they even had chocolate milk for my son. The menu options go on and on. So many different combinations between the toppings, schemers, and bagels. The only hard part is what to decide. I was surprised to find they even had a menu option for my picky eater. He loved the pizza bagels. My fiance got the French toast bagel with hazelnut spread and it was just gooey with filling and every bite was lovely. I got an everything bagel with egg and cheese on it and everything was cooked to perfection. This is now one of my favorite breakfast location.
