Nooki — Restaurant in Stillwater

The food was great, I got the angry bird bowl and loved it. Im looking forward to going back to try some of their rolls next time. The only reason I'm not giving the full 5 stars is because the employee working at the time was kind of rude to us...we came in and stood there waiting to order for several minutes while the girl working was cutting avocados (she made eye contact as we walked up but continued cutting avocados) and she finally stopped and said "Oh you were ready to order?" Then when I told her what I wanted she asked if I wanted sushi rice, white rice, or spring mix in my bowl but I couldn't hear what she said at first because it was busy at the time so when I asked her to repeat what she said she turned and just pointed at the menu board and as I was answering she walked off to go grab something from the counter behind her before I could even finish answering. It just seemed like we were annoying her because we'd never been there before so weren't exactly sure...

This place was awesome when I first started eating there. I always do a custom sushi bowl. The biggest disappointment has been the quality of the sushi rice has gone down horribly. When I first started eating their it was just as good as the sushi, I actually use to joke about how it was so good I could order it by itself. However, the last 3 times I’ve ordered the same thing the rice has been horrible. Glue like and not cooked thoroughly. Nobody wants to eat glue like crunchy sushi rice. It makes up half the bowl so it really needs to be done right. I had hoped the first time it was just a bad night but now it’s been 3 times in a row. I really loved this place and this makes me very sad. I can’t justify $16 for a custom build your own bowl I can’t even eat. I’m going to give this place one last try in a few more weeks but it’ll be my last time if the rice...

This place is good. The atmosphere got that modern kitchy look not bad but could be better executed. The fairy lamps being right there as you turn to sit is a bit much and I'm still not sure how it goes with the rest of the decor. As a college student, the only parts that that matter really is that it's clean with good food and within convenient walking distance. They pass with flying colors in this regard. The sushi is so fresh I forgot our state was land locked and they have these drinks with a tiny fruit in them I never seen before! The staff was friendly and I got my food within five- ten minutes of ordering. Keep in mind though that I came during a lull and the restaurant has only existed for, like, a week at this point so, I have no clue how this place handles being blitzkrieged! Overall, its the best sushi in Stillwater and I wish them all the luck...
