I would love to leave 5 stars because the service is always decent, and with my most recent visit, my waitress was amazing...Food is good! Service and drinks, also good!
The ISSUE is the staff does not wear mask. After checking with Mgmt, I was told, the Owners have left this decision to the “workers discretion”....mask are not required by the staff. Not ONE waitress was wearing a mask on a busy Sunday. The thought that the waiters and food runners helping to bring food out, are going from table to table, talking to customers who have taken off their mask to eat and drink, then comes back to my table to do exactly the same thing, is horrifying. We love this place but the fact that the staff is not required to wear a mask and go about “Business as usual” is NOT a good look for Benchwarmers! I wouldn’t be surprised if this bar gets shut down for reported Coronavirus cases....I have not been to any other restaurant/bar here in Henry county where the staff is not wearing mask except Benchwarmers, so I’m curious what efforts Mgmt is requiring of their staff to make sure they limit exposure to their customers.
My family and I are going to have to break our ritual of going to Benchwarmers to watch the games, until Mgmt decides to address this concern....it’s unfortunate because we enjoy this place and “most” of the staff is wonderful. But we are not comfortable with the staff not having any mask on while they are going from table to table, exposing themselves and other customers..IMO this is reckless! My husband is even insisting that we go get tested now because of the exposure we experienced. I’m not sure why any Mgmt would be okay with this. Perhaps when you start losing customers because they don’t feel safe, and your revenue is impacted, you’ll do better! If my 16yr old yr old can wear a mask for his 6-8hrs shift per day at ChicFilA, I don’t understand why fully knowing adults wouldn’t wear one in a busy establishment such as a neighborhood sports bar during a national pandemic!
Poor choice Benchwarmers. I’m really hoping you guys rethink this decision! Because with your current policy you have in place right now, you’re basically telling customers to “come at their own risk”...where is your responsibility to your customers to maintain a healthy, safe...
Read moreI wanted to rate higher but our experience doesn't warrant it. We had a group reservation and when we arrived it was a seat yourself situation. A family had made themselves comfortable in a section of the tables that was supposed to be for us. That was the first problem. We stood in the lobby and no one greeted us and we had to find someone to assist.
We were finally seated and half of the group was together and the rest of us spread out to various tables- no problem there (considering we weren't given menus and had to track someone down to wait on us). One waitress was assigned to the group seated together (at least 15 people) and it took 2 HOURS for them to get drinks. My child never received hers and I had to get something from the bar. 1.5 hours in and the group still hadn't placed their order. 2 hours later they were able to order. After 3 hours of all this waiting, food still wasn't coming out, people were upset and beginning to leave. The waitress had a terrible attitude and was clearly overwhelmed. Why she didn't get help is beyond me.
This is Friday, during March Madness and St. Patrick's day. Why they didn't have all hands on deck with a reservation of our size is incomprehensible.
The waitress tried to get security to keep people from leaving but once he was informed that food wasn't received, he let people go. Until the last person was leaving. They STUCK him with a bill for $800, even though most of that food was never delivered. They called the police. The police!
I'm really disappointed things went this way because the karaoke was fun. I should also note that while all this was going on with us, there was a medical emergency and police/fire were on site.
Based on this experience I won't be going back. I also wouldn't recommend it for groups....
Read moreI went to meet my cousin to play pool and maybe grab some lunch. The first time here, the nachos were not good so I decided to try something else. The bartender said that she could see us from where she was and would check on us or be there to help when we called her. She didn’t return for more than 20 minutes and there were maybe a handful of people at the bar. She then said oh she’s behind the bar so that’s where she’ll be. We ordered food. I ordered chicken tenders. They were over cooked and dry and hard. I waved to the bartender but she waved me off. Then she sent a blonde woman with a tie dye shirt to check on us. I informed her that the food was not acceptable and she gave me a look before saying that she would have them cook it over. I said that I would rather have the fish and chips. She gave me another look and then said okay. She brought out the fish and chips. The cook, a tall black dude, came over to ask my cousin for a cigarette. My cousin said he could have one for $1. The cook responds with “after I cooked you this beautiful fish.” My cousin informed him that the food was not for him. The cook said he could get his own cigarette and left. The fries were bland, the fish was salty, rubbery and also over cooked. We decided to leave. We went up to the bar to pay. After the blonde woman split up our tabs and handed us our receipts, I gave her a $20. My bill was $11.76. She gave me $8 back but not the $0.24. I contemplated if I should say something to her while my cousin paid for his bill. I decided that I would not say anything...
