I am disgusted, embarrassed, angered with this MexiCAN'T 'restaurant'. Dining at North American Mexican restaurants in the southern United States and having many privileges of dining at Mexican friend's mother's table, I am dumbstruck to learn there are still people who present themselves as restauranteurs of basic Mexican cuisine, menus offering chicken chimichangas that did not look like any other chimichanga I have ever been served. (Featured as almost flat square loosely shaped tortilla shell over emptily half of breast chicken cut up pieces). I was already hesitant to order when I saw their menus picture other dishes differently (with mushrooms and uncooked onions) from usual Mexican flare than I have seen, eaten or experienced. And questioned waitress after she described all time classic dish with mexican rice having onions incorporated and without refried beans. As my sister was hungry I gave American Mexican try. After my chicken chimichanga arrived and noticing aforementioned description I cut open and was fully presented with all of the inaccuracies of classic American Mexican dish. I simply stated to waitress that was not a chicken chimichanga and they could keep it. She asked about remaking and I said no they keep it. My sister asked for a second plate, she cut off a small portion of her chicken rancheros minus onions (and mushrooms) dishing up some of this mexican rice (with onions) which I tried and then exited to car to wait on sister to finish her dinner. She arrived in car with bag in tow stating this was meal I had ordered which she was forced to pay for before being allowed to leave. AMAZING, THIS PLACE CALLS ITSELF A BUSINESS, A MEXICAN RESTAURANT, A UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, STATE OF GEORGIA, SOUTHERN ESTABLISHMENT. Eat at your own risk, especially since they do not clarify nor state the menu is their variations and versions of Mexican dishes not usual expected and appreciated traditional American Mexican...
Read moreI like the restaurant setup. It could have been a nice experience. Sat at the bar, it was not very busy on Friday around 9pm. Maybe because it was an hour or so before closing. Bartenders were not very attentive to us but appeared very friendly and attentive to two or others group of guys/couples. Maybe they were regulars. The male bartender was moving around looking busy dispensing pre made drinks, never spoke. The female bartender came over about 10 minutes or so in, gave us menus and said she would be back. I wanted the pineapples margaritas which was on special but pre-made with Toro or Capitan tequila 😕. I asked for a fresh one with a different tequila well prepared for the up charge. She had to consult the male bartender. Needless to say they were not able to accommodate. They did appear to want to make anything fresh just dispense the pre-made. I settled on a patron margaritas that still appeared to be pre-made mixed with a little patron. The bar area needed cleaning.. Received chips and Salsa when our food came out although the lady was passing us every time distributing. She even brought some to the couple that had just arrived that also received more attentive service from the bartender. Food was ok. Needless, I was hoping for a good time, good drinks and good Mexican food on a Friday night and received mediocre everything with the exception of the host and atmosphere. Not going back, guess I'll try the Mexican Restaurant in the next plaza. Maybe they would appreciate...
Read moreIt was my first time eating here and the food was delicious. The drinks were awesome as well! I wish I could remember our servers name because she was great. Will definitely be back.
UPDATE!! We have basically been coming here every Sunday (9/1/19) and we became acquaintances with some of the staff. The ones that we usually have are awesome. So we went last night we had a different server, and he was good, a little cold, but did his job. He was an older guy and I won't say his name. But we ordered two pitchers of margaritas as we always do. We ordered the Texas margaritas. Like I said we do this every week. But last night I'm not sure if they did not give us top shelf liquor as it should have been. Three people in my party got sick. Throwing up and severe stomach pain. There was 10 of us, so we didn't drink a lot. I don't throw up when I drink. So something was wrong with either the food, or the alcohol. So be careful when ordering alcohol. I wish I could have made sure that the bartender used top-shelf alcohol as she should have. But the way we got sick, it was like it was cheap alcohol. I left a whole mess at the bar. The old bartender, Aaliyah, was phenomenal. We are a group of over 40 and this is definitely not our first rodeo of trying to drink. We definitely can handle our liquor. So needless to say, it was very embarrassing to be throwing up like we are teenagers. And I literally had one glass of Margarita. We had the Frozen strawberry mango...
