Empson's Deli — Restaurant in Stockbridge

I just wanted to let everyone know what happened to me today at Empson’s Deli during lunch time. I went there like I usually do to get a chicken salad sandwich but my son is home from College and asked that I get him something too. I ordered my son a Reuben sandwich and I ordered my usually paid for it and left. Once I got home and gave my son his sandwich he told me he couldn’t eat the Reuben because the last time he ate thousand island he broke out really bad. I immediately called the deli and made them aware of it but the girl that answered the phone was acting as though I was speaking a foreign language so I drove back up there with my receipt and sandwich wanting to switch the sub out for another one. I was so disappointed on how they reacted about a sandwich. I told the lady about my son being allergic and her response was so you want us to give you a free sub and we didn’t make an error. My response was you’re not giving me a free sub because I’ve paid for a sub but my son can’t eat it and then another guy came up saying “lady you don’t know your son”? I’m like really you’re questioning my parenting because my son is now realizing his allergic to the sauce. That really made me boil because I’m a great mother and to add my son is attending College on a football scholarship and he’s on the deans list. So don’t dare question my mother hood over a freaking sauce. I WILL NEVER RETURN BACK TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. You’re that upset about making another...

My boyfriend & I ate here today after an ultrasound, I was starving and wanted something yummy! This place did not disappoint, I got a veggie sub & it was absolutely delicious. The bread was fresh and the toppings were incredible! Not only was the food phenomenal, but so was the staff. They were very friendly and helpful with ordering. As far as the reviews about masks, each employee was wearing a mask during our visit, but at the end of the day we cannot wear masks forever! If you are sick, elderly, or have a health condition I understand being wearisome about the public wearing masks. But if you are not, you cannot expect people to eat with a mask on, it is not possible. I saw a lady today that gave me a nasty look & walked out bc I was eating my sub before a long drive back home. If you are that worried (for some understandably), maybe stay home & order delivery or order Togo, pick it up and take it home. It’s always an option! What a pleasant surprise! I’m never in Stockbridge but my route took me over that way today. When lunch time hit, google maps showed only a mexican place (wasn’t in the mood), and this little deli sandwich shop. I told myself “lesser of 2 evils,” and went into the unknown. I walked in and was greeted by the most genuine smile and ‘hello, sir, what can I get started for you?’ Asking a few questions, and never feeling rushed, I ordered a roast beef and cheddar, steamed -and toasted-, with a few toppings. Several other staff members made small talk as they crafted my sandwich quickly. I was out in less than 6 minutes and they were pretty busy! Then I ate the sandwich! It was delicious! High quality ingredients are obvious here. Pricing is a little on the higher side for the genre, but the quality food and service are worth it.
