This review will speak to the working environment and leadership within this store. Which seeing some of the managerial practices firsthand, I will not recommend ANYONE eat here. I was hired to be a shift manager, to have as a side gig to my main job.
Itâs no surprise that the majority of the staff are high school children but you would think the GROWN managers who operate the store are high school kids as well. Specifically, Andrea Smith, the assistant store manager. Where do I begin? Within my two days of training as a shift manager, I observed her constant lack of leadership. Her constant display of arrogance and entitlement makes training difficult to grasp. She rushes the experience and micromanages you after she has improperly and inefficiently trained you.
Secondly, she allows the high school students to be on their phones during shifts, so while theyâre touching their phones and headphones full of germs, theyâre also making YOUR SANDWICHES. When there are waves of people coming in at a time, she comments inappropriate remarks whenever customers have certain situations arise where they may need to alter their orders. This store has volume but with the lack of leadership I feel it will continue to decline as others have also commented multiple areas of concern. To top it off, the actual general manager is nonchalant and oblivious to the trends among her staff. As long as she allow bad management to happen under her nose, they will continue to have a high turnover rate and increasing negative reviews.
I would begin with eliminating the main source of the issues which is the Assist Gen Manager. Leadership is beyond sales, its also a positive work ethic and personable...
Read moreI love firehouse, the subs are delicious. Unfortunately, Iâm giving 1 star today because of the attitudes. My husband and I went inside to order after a long day. I ordered a cajun chicken sub. I clearly said, âI would ONLY like Cajun mayo, lettuce, cheese, and bacon. No jalapeños.â My sandwich was made with jalapeños. Okay, no big deal. I wasnât upset about it. We all make mistakes. I sent my husband inside to have it corrected. He told the young girl at the counter âMy wifeâs sandwich wasnât made correctly and she would like it remade. She didnât want jalapeños. Only lettuce, Cajun mayo, cheese, and bacon.â The girl at the counter responded, â Well, thatâs how it come.â Like, sweetheart, he didnât ask you all that! She was more worried about being on her phone than assisting customers. We know âhow it comeâ which is why I clearly told you how I wanted it ,while you rang it up, and printed it out on our receipt. So, she called the black girl with the glasses, which made the situation worse with her pissy attitude, throwing her hands up, smacking her lips, and shaking her head saying, â Just remake it then, just remake it.â Her energy and demeanor was odd upon entry anyway.. The sandwich is not coming out of either one of their checks or personal kitchen, so why the attitudes? My husband was nice and polite, as always, so he shouldâve had the same energy reciprocated to him. All that over a sandwich was totally unnecessary. The proper response shouldâve been, âMy apologies sir, weâll have that remade for you.â Like, whatever happened to respect and manners? We will not be returning to this location. Iâll go a few exits up...
Read moreThis location used to be great under previous ownership. Ever since the newest owner took over it has gone down hill. Day shift tends to be good but the night shift doesnât give a darn about anything. If you come in for dinner the restaurant will be dirty, the shift leader/assistant manager shows no concern for anything. The team always treats you like you are a hinderance on them instead of them being thankful you have chosen to eat there. At night the order comes out wrong, quite often, as well they continually run out of items at night. The most recent issue, I went in tonight 1.5 hours before clouding time and they were out of sweet tea. I asked the shift leader (medium sized black male with long hair wearing a red polo shirt) if they had any more and he replied âwe ainât making anymore. They just left the empty tea container out there and didnât want to lift a finger to make any tea. If you come in within 1.5 hours of closing time they make your order to go even if you asked for it to be dine in. This has been happening for a while now. If you show up within an hour of closing they have already put chairs up so you canât eat there. The staff at night needs major work. The daytime shift is totally different. This seems to be customary with the owner of this location as they own the one next to GA TECH and almost identical problems exist...
