I have been shopping at J & J Liquor store since it opened a number of years ago. . Today, I truly had a very bad experience at the checkout!
I had spent about 15 minutes picking out the items I wanted....5 items, a total of $207.
While shopping, I talked with two people. Inquiring about a smaller size for one item. (One person, I found out later, was the store manager or supervisor).
I load my items on counter for checkout and as I move my cart to use card machine, I noticed someone's debit card on the floor.
I pick it up card and handed it to the cashier and stated that someone dropped their card on the floor. She takes the card and mentions she knows whose card it was.
She packages and totals my items.
I start to use my debit card....she wants to see my card and ID. I refused and she stated it was store policy. I stated not required as a card user, especially, if using a debit card.
She states, that it is store policy. This has never occurred in over 5 years of purchssing items at store.
I still refuse, then start to pay with cash.
I then ask to speak with store manager or supervisor. Cashier tells me she is on lunch break.
I decide not to buy items and leave store.
As I get to my car, I decided to go back in and I ask another employee to call store manager. She calls manager. The lady I interacted with earlier, who was on the floor..was store manager!
Cashier had lied to me!
Talked with manager about my experience and how the cashier lied, was rude and did not know card use rules. Also, if I was dishonest, I told her I would have kept the debit card I found and used it elsewhere!
She explained issues with people using stolen cards and based on the amount I was spending, that was the reason for the request.
I can accept that!
I can not accept, disrespectful rude and lying folks!
My last time shopping at...

I just left this store after spending over $200 and was completely insulted by one of the young ladies named Heather at the counter. In preparation for completing my purchase I put my card in the machine to be processed as I waited for my nephew to return to the counter with my final item like I always do. I told the young lady that he was coming with one more item, but she proceeded to check me out anyway, and I wasn’t aware that she did. When my nephew came to the counter, I said "here is the last item" please give us the military discount as we qualify for it. She then told me that it's too late; I have already checked you out. I asked how could that be when you haven't rung up my final item. She said oh well... with a complete attitude. I asked for the Manager, and she said you can talk to him tomorrow his name is Scott and he is not here and laughed. Her behavior was ignorant with no regard for me as a customer, and another customer followed me out of the store to ask if I was ok. I will be back tomorrow to speak with Scott and I expect to get my discount and for her to be addressed accordingly.

Read moreWent there often then covid happened and I went in to buy a bottle of Hennessy which they kept at the front near the cashier. So I joined the line a man right behind me was way too close so I kept moving closer to the counter. Waited my turn in line and went to grab the bottle of Hennessy, walked up to the counter but they were counting money so I moved to the next available cashier and I think the manager turns to me and asked me if I was waiting on line I said yes. He then turned to the cashier in front of me and asked if I was on the line she said no and he then told me next time I should join the line if I want service. Why not instill the 6 feet apart rule so I don't have someone breathing on my neck.Till this day I'm angry I spent any money here. I hoped they checked the security camera after and felt stupid, I will never patronize this...
