Let me start by saying I really really don’t like leaving negative reviews, but my experience today was absolutely unacceptable. I have been coming to Manny’s on the Miracle Mile since I was very young and have always enjoyed the food. The staff has always been pleasant even through busy lunch rushes and things like that.
Today I came with my family at lunch time after running some errands. I had my 2 year old with me and knowing it had been a long day, we decided to eat quickly and go home.
When we first walked in, a staff member yells across the restaurant at me saying that I cannot bring in my child’s cup due to their “no outside drink” policy. At first I honestly thought he was joking but no, he was being very serious. It was so embarrassing as there were people sitting in the booths and even on the bench right inside. The nice woman working corrected him and said that no, I could bring it in because it was for the baby. Alright, that was settled so we ordered. Everything was fine and as we were finishing up when an older man came over wearing a Manny’s t shirt with no name tag or anything. He begins to tell me to sit outside if I insist on bringing my child with me because, “there are people trying to eat”. My child was being just that... a child. We were doing our best to keep him entertained so we could eat, but he was being fussy. He was NOT running around the restaurant, throwing things or being disruptive to the other patrons at all because I would not allow that in the first place. He said his speech then my husband and I let him know that we, are in fact, paying customers as well and do not appreciate the way we were being singled out (there was another family with a toddler just on the other side of the room behaving the exact same). We left immediacy after this. Completely embarrassed. We found out this man is actually the owner!
In conclusion, NOT family friendly at all. Extremely rude and horrible customer service. This used to be a family restaurant so I honestly don’t know what has changed. No one else in the restaurant was annoyed or even bothered by us while we were there. There were only 4 other tables being occupied at the time.
I understand they don’t NEED my business, but we will not be coming back because of what...
Read moreDo NOT give this horrible person your money! We often get my mother-in-law's favorite sandwich here, especially on her birthday. Normally we would get it to go and give it to her. This time, since today is her birthday, we decided to take the whole family, 8 people all together, including our 2 and 4 year old toddlers. We didn't even finish ordering yet before an elderly gentleman behind the counter suggested we all sit outside (It was 90 degrees outside). We said it was too hot outside and moved on with our order as our children went to see their grandmother and her boyfriend. After ordering, we joined them. Within a couple of minutes the same man came out and started saying we could eat somewhere else because people were trying to eat and our children were being too loud. There was only one other table that had any people and one other person waiting for a to go order. Our children are not the silent type by any means but they were not being rambunctious or unreasonably loud. They were simply saying hi to their family. No other patron said anything or even seemed irritated. In shock, we left and will never return. This business does not like families or children. If you have children and they make more sound than a mosquito, then take your business elsewhere. This kind of treatment is unacceptable. Even my mother-in-law said she will not be returning. Good thing she recently tried Deli Delicious so she can get a good sandwich elsewhere. She later told us that as we were finishing our order, the same man came out and harassed them about the kids and stood there glaring at them. That's three time this rude person complained about the presence of our children. As we were leaving my wife apologized to the employees who were being nice while we ordered. They actually apologized to her in return. My wife asked who that man was. It turns out it was the owner. I am not one of those parents who thinks their kids can do no wrong. TRUST me, I have to correct them all the time! However, in this case, they were not out of control, running and screaming throughout the dining area or making a scene. They were sitting with their family in a booth and being...
Read moreOk..im going to start with addressing the responses to the previous reviews. All the responses saying they will take it up to managment is a joke. I say that because the person who is responding to the reviews is management/owner(s). They can care less about receiving consructive cristism or helpful feedback. They only want the positives to be spoken and none of the negatives aka the truth. Customer service in person is just as bad. The reason im saying this is because i was treated very poorly by the management today..It started with me parking in the no parking area. I was asked to move my vehicle by the young lady at the register with a bad attitude.I explained to her my order should be ready since it was well over the twenty minutes they stated for my wait time. before i could even process her response, the owner approached me with the threat that if i dont move my vehicle i would'nt get my food.Needless to say i was in shock to hear that since i was willing to comply with the first request. I didnt address the demanding tone he gave, i just went and moved my vehicle immediately. I felt so upset about the threat that when i came back into the restaurant, i was talking aloud quietly TO MYSELF (once again...trying to process what just took place)..then the young girl said..did you say something (with an atttitude again)? I said no,i was talking to myself. Then shortly after that, the owner came to the register, called me up to the counter and refunded my money and told me he is refusing to provide me with sevice and I was asked to leave. The way he did this was in an extremely arrogant manner. This is the first time ever in my life to be refused sevice. Before this new owner took over, it was not like this. New management/owners seem to pride themselves on trying to shame others in a public setting. Its sad that they feel because they provide a service that the public seek, they misuse their authority to mistreat customers. Sometimes it not what you say, its how you say it that makes a world of a difference. Without customers, they wouldnt have a business. Do better Manny's and step up your...
