Squeeze Burger — Restaurant in Stockton

I was really antisipating more. Especially with this place being in Lincoln center.

I'm not sure that my experience warrants 2 stars, but the staff was not outright rude to us. Although they did ignore us most of the time and my water spent most of the dinner empty.

I have so much to say, and this place could be awesome! The idea is there, and they have the "stick" with their cheese skirt.

What I noticed: The place was seemingly understaffed or just super inefficient.

Tables were left unbussed, which made it hard to seat people without cleaning a table first.

People waited to be seated too long. There was plenty of seating.

Service at the table was very inadequate.

Water was served in a half glass. When your staff is slow and inattentive, full glasses of water are going to be tough to keep filled. How do you think a half glass is going to fare? Twice as bad? We sat for a long time before our order was taken.

It took WAY too long to get our food. Over 30 minutes, and the place was almost empty. It's a burger and fries.

The burger was very overcooked. That's very disappointing. The cheese masked a lot of that, but a burger is an incredibly easy thing to cook. The burger did look good, though. Nice lettuce, tomatoes, and pickels.

This place feels like no one cares enough to make a change. Like a dying restaurant.

The service at the table is almost like self-service. You almost feel like the service is an afterthought. The waitress was nice but had no clue how to service a table.

Finally tried this in person after ordering it for delivery a few times. Dinner was on a weekday about 6:30pm.

Our waitress was completely friendly but a little awkward. I only say this because she kept apologizing and trying to explain why things were a little off. 🤷🏻‍♂️

First issue…price. I’m totally down to pay good money for good food. All of the main entrees here are hamburgers. You know, the cheapest item on any other menu. Most of them have a cheese skirt around them.

Still 15-20 bucks for a hamburger?!

And to top it off the burgers don’t even come with fries. So another 10 bucks for a basket of fries. Also got the the fried pickles as an appetizer. They were decent…although a little greasy. 🥒

Just to reiterate, I’m totally ok with paying good money for good food…but it was FIFTY dollars for 2 people for a couple hamburgers, a basket of fries, fried pickles and one soda.

Oh and the best part…I ordered my soda and asked for a glass of water. I was brought two sized cups. The soda was in the regular size cup and the water was served in a cup the size of an In-N-Out water cup. When I asked about the water I was told by our server that “She wants us to do it that way.” 😐

I understand a smaller water cup at a self serve spot where you have to worry about customers who get soda instead of water but this is a sit down restaurant where your server refills your drink. So weird. 💧

At the height of dinner there was only 3-4 parties in the whole place. I think I understand why. 😒

We came right at opening, we were the only ones in the restaurant at first (more people trickled in) and the lady who was running the bar was very kind to us and conversed with us, checking in, and being very accommodating (I am in a wheelchair). Then the waitress {named Heaven} came over to get our order. My partner and I are both vegetarians and we saw that they offer a veggie patty for their burgers, but I asked if they would be willing to substitute it on a chicken sandwich… and they were!!! We ordered the pesto chicken sandwich WITH a veggie patty instead of chicken, a Build Your own Burger WITH a cheese skirt and a veggie patty instead of beef, and a basket of fries (1/2 Sweet potato and 1/2 Squeeze) The combo of those two flavors was superb. Based on that service loan, I would give them five stars. But then we got the food and it was beyond delicious… I was not expecting it at all! They had the RIGHT veggie patty, it was cooked very well too. It was not the cheap black bean burger that most places burn anyways. Then! The waitress was hustling to get people their food and that is very respectable in my eyes. We live in Lodi and were up here for a family members appointment but we both said we would be willing...
