TLDR: What got me was the dish, decorations and beautiful paintings. 8.75/12(personal) 4.5/5 (Google, because 5 star metric is standard)
The entrance is beautiful. 10/10 on decorations. (please take a moment when you enter!) they invoked emotions and made me feel less homesick. if you are going for the first time then you are going to enjoy the “vibe”. second timers and regulars are going to this place for a reason. The food is amazing. I don’t know the exact recipe but you could tell that it was made with a lot of attention to detail. I recommend the chili Manchurian. It was delicious. (might be too spicy for some, but they are considerate enough to let you pick the spice level. I tried the medium one out off mild and spicy.) The name of the restaurant is Swagat. which means “welcome”. They have put a lot of thought into the overall structure(choose your table carefully, the paintings that you look while you eat make the difference)It makes you curious as to what is the secrets they have in all the traditional cooking styles, how they developed. i simply enjoyed my time without any interruptions, kinda forgot that I was in a restaurant (lol). I tried the following and I have a humble suggestion to give these dishes the try: (Crispy) Manchurian &...
Read moreI do not recommend this restaurant at all. It’s overpriced for three reasons, one the food was stale, over priced for number of items and taste was completely bland. My husband and I walked in at around 3 pm yesterday and ordered two buffet. We walked out by 3:05 pm without even completing the first round. The manager was sweet enough to ask but my husband didn’t want to hurt his feelings hence I’m writing this review. The batter for the vada was over fermented with an after taste. The sabzi , veg entree was stale, I threw it out of my mouth into a paper napkin. The only thing that was fresh was chicken tandoori and salad but after tasting the “sweet “ rasam I was done!!! The daal had no tadte nor did the chicken curry. I wouldn’t call this Indian food by any means. It’s a disgrace to charge $40 for a buffet when your standards are way...
Read moreThis place is not great for family who have little ones. I have a 2 and a 3 years old, we asked for highchair and was only given 1. The waiter gave us only three cups of water while theres four of us; my husband, my two kids and myself. Water were not refilled. My youngest one is still learning to use spoon and fork, so she did make mess. The waiter told us to stop our little one from throwing food on the floor ( she wasnt throwing food on the floor, she uses the fork and try to put in her mouth and then food falls out. And she uses her hands ). We did give the waiter a $5 tips to clean. If you pay using credit or debit it's $2 extra. So have cash if you plan ln eating here. Food is OK, have to ask to get Naan. Also, a few of the dishes tasted a little sour. Such as the lamb curry and lentils soup. My first and last time. Not...
