I really love this restaurant, but I don’t recommend going on a week night. I made a reservation for 7:30 thinking that the restaurant stayed open till nine - like most restaurants. It was a special evening with family we hadn’t seen in years, and I really wanted the entire evening to be special. The food was good, as always, but we felt rushed the entire time we were there. I didn’t understand the rush, given that the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy and also thinking that closing time was nine. By the time we finished our meal, it was VERY obvious that our waitress was anxious for us to leave, but again I assumed closing time was nine, like 90% of restaurants in our area. It was only later when we got home that I learned closing was at eight. Why in the world would a restaurant take a 7:30 reservation when closing was at eight????
Our meal was not inexpensive!!! We knew it wouldn’t be, but that was fine as we were expecting a leisurely meal for the cost. Why would anyone pay $400+ for meal at a restaurant that would be closing in thirty minutes?? I know our waitress was aggravated, but honestly, she should have known we couldn’t possibly have drinks, appetizers and a meal in less than an hour! Certainly she was happy for us to order all of this as it made for a nice tip, but she sure didn’t try to hide the fact that she wanted us to leave!! To avoid this happening to other patrons in the future, I would recommend taking reservations no later than 7:00!! As long as stonebriar accepts guests past this time, management needs to instruct its wait staff to be more patient!! If a restaurant is going to charge these prices, it needs to allow its guests ample time to eat...
Read moreUnfortunately this restaurant was a big disappointment. The ambiance was nice when we first walked in and it seemed promising. The best part of the night was the live musician that was singing. However, it was downhill from there. Servers didn’t smile and seemed very unfriendly. Didn’t ever seem to acknowledge us. We were seated, ordered our drinks, and were given water. We waited for a very long time and our drinks never came. The couple seated next to us came long after we did and were being doted on by several servers, pouring their wine etc. I had to flag someone down who then asked our server to bring our drinks, she apologized but never came back once to refill our water or to bring us any other drinks. Had to ask again after a server poured water for several other guests and then walked right by. Our server again pouring wine and doting on couple next to us, didn’t so much as glance our way. Never brought us more bread and appetizers took a good hour. Food took an uncomfortably long time. We were there estimating two hours. Didn’t care for the calamari, deviled eggs, or the scampi. Short ribs, salmon, and lamb chops were good. Spent about $200 for three adults and a child (we ordered lots of extras) for a mediocre experience. Not sure if this is the normal experience or if we didn’t look the part $$ but seemed like we were overlooked. Honestly, service was the downfall of our experience. We had a much better experience at Ernie’s in Manteca where the servers were on point anticipating our every need. Wandered in one day and had the best service ever. Wouldn’t...
Read moreCalled for reservations for My dad's 70th birthday for a table not in high traffic. Eli said they sing happy birthday and give a free cheesecake slice for birthdays. Our table was right by high traffic area/walkway when an empty table in a corner far from main walkway was empty. The waiter was comedically semi rude throughout dinner. We seen our waiter light candles stuck in a squire cheesecake slice then he and other servers sang happy birthday to a guest a few tables away. When it was time for dessert my mom asked about the free cheesecake and birthday song and the server joked about not getting paid enough then said they don't do that. We thought he was avoiding the conversation to add to the "surprise" moment, but we ordered dessert, my dad ordered cheesecake and it was shaped different with no candles nor did servers sing. Then we sang happy birthday as a family then our server rushed to our table and stared in panic/worry at the dessert in front of my dad as if to make sure which cheesecake he received then looked at our beverages then walked away. Also no non-alcoholic beverage menu, nor were we asked/offered, it all stopped with water. No salt and pepper nor bread either. Myself, his wife, and my wife were extremely disgusted with the experience. I wanted to talk to a manager, but my wife said leave it be and just not dine there again. $300 dinner and the food wasn't amazing; dry chicken, marsala tasted like walnut paste, chocolate gelato tasted like fudge bars, and the seafood pasta sauce was meager. I hope your...
