Dream Ice Cream Parlor — Restaurant in Stockton

So I’ll start with a positive, their taro ice cream was yummy- the only reason I gave a 2 instead of a 1 or honestly if possible a 0. If you like not knowing the taste of the ice cream you’re getting- this is the place for you. My daughter wanted the blue ice cream- I think it’s called cookie dream or something- anyhow, I didn’t want to pay $4.55 for a single scoop if my kid didn’t like it so I asked for a taste/sample. To my surprise the guy said they don’t do tasting/samples. I wasn’t asking for a scoop full just a small sample for my child to taste. I had half the sense to walk away, but a member of my family was enjoying their ice cream. To top it off, I swear the one guy was getting on my last nerves. We only went there because our first time was decent, but fudge this second go around... fudge that! We have never went to an ice cream where you can’t get a small taste to see if you like...

I honestly didn't see what everyone is raving about, and neither did my adult sons. It's sad when you get an adult male excited like a child for a doughnut stuffed with ice cream and see them disappointed like I popped their balloons at 5 years old. The doughnuts were taken out of a box, like a they bought them somewhere else and weren't fresh or warm. They didn't have a large selection of flavors of ice cream and that's ok if you are fully stocked in what you are offering which was not the case. The condiments they offer are also very limited. So in general considering these circumstances they were seemed very pricey without the satisfaction. I won't be back. I'll stick to cold stone, better value for the money if I want to buy overpriced ice...

I know that this is a super unpopular opinion of the joint, but the ice cream here is average. FYI: it's Gunther's ice cream. Very overpriced Gunther's. You can have it on a donut though. Or on some egg puffs. But otherwise, it's nothing special. The ice cream isn't any better than what you can get in the grocery store.

If you want to shovel out money because you want to 'Gram your ice cream, this is the place for you. If you want to actually have ice cream worth the price for flavor/texture/ingenuity, go somewhere else. Heck, go to Coldstone if you must and create your own flavor.

Three stars, however, because the end result at least looks pretty enough for a picture and the customer...
