Royal Pizza Roast Beef & Seafood — Restaurant in Stoneham

New owners and it’s negatively impacted the food and service. Firstly, the cook was not wearing a mask properly. His nose was outside of the mask! How can a food establishment not enforce mask wearing on their staff? I placed a pick up order yet it still took them 60mins to make it. When I was in there, there were 4 other customers was waiting for their food order. It was so bad that one woman asked for a refund and walked out. The staff was tense and bickering with each other the whole time too. I ordered a one topping half cheese/half eggplant with sweet sauce (not knowing if the menu changed), it took several minutes for the person on the phone to understand what I was even ordering. Ended up with tasteless watery eggplant with a bunch of extra toppings. They up charged me with a specialty pizza! Even though I was literally there when the pizza was pulled out of the oven it still was soggy by the time I got home. The previous time ordered from them they forgot to make my pizza! Got takeout every time and it's been a great experience! The sweet cheese pizza is delicious (though the last time we had it wasnt as sweet). The seafood box is delicious; the fish was cooked to perfection with a nice crisp on the outside and the fish itself was not dry. The tartar sauce and onion rings were also tasty. We also got shrimp scampi and chicken garlic butter pasta, both of which came with a garlic bread. On one occasion it came with a full garlic bread and the second time it only came with half. Both times were takeout for dinner. The shrimp scampi was good but a bit more on the sour side. The chicken garlic was also good. I love how the ratio was perfect, not too much pasta for the amount of sauce/chicken/shrimp. I'd recommend royal, especially for the sweet cheese pizza or seafood box.

Edit: Do NOT recommend the onion rings. We got a large box and it was so greasy we ended up tossing it. It soaked through the box, bag, and the 3 stacks of newspaper we put underneath to try to absorb. Not only were they greasy but they were...

The staff are extremely friendly, so that's a positive here. The seafood is good but the calzones fall short of their promise. They are large--the size and shape of a pizza--and that's a good thing, as one calzone will easily feed 4-5 people. However, ours were skimpily filled, so it felt as though we were eating more dough than filling, as the filling was sandwiched between two pizza crusts. There was cheese sprinkled on top but hardly any cheese or spinach inside. We did not receive the marinara sauce as promised, which led to overall disappointment when we got home to serve these at our party.
