Alright its somewhat a long story but Ill leave a TL;DR at the bottom.
So Tuesday I was working with my working companion and we where in Boston traveling up to Wakefield. When my companion looked out the side of my window and saw a restaurant in Somerville with a big picture of food outside its establishment. It was a Middle Eastern restaurant showing shawarma spits, Falafel, and shawarma with all the fixings on a pita bread, (I myself never had a Falafel and or a shawarma but knew what it looked like.) My Driver asked what is that I said it was a Falafel, and shawarma and pointed which was which, she heard of it but never had the chance to try it herself and now wanted to try it. Unfortunately we were working and did not have time to stop and eat but she asked me to search online for one close to our stop. So I asked google, "where is there a place that sells shawarma and falafel and low and behold Amore Pizza pops up on the map. I thought it was weird because an Italian pizzeria selling shawarma and falafel. I thought maybe I typed it wrong but low and behold Amore Pizza Shows up again. So I was like alright lets go and take a look. I get their and I see a man eating a small pizza in a booth near the cash register I catch him mid way eating a big bite and I asked him, "Do you guys sell Shawarmas?" And the Guy nodded and was trying to swallow the big bite while pointing up on the menu, and I was like "YES!" "But we are all out." he said. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?" I said in disbelief and sadness. The guy started laughing, "No Im kidding we have them but the look on you face was priceless."
Turns out the guy was the owner of the place. So we talked a little I explained the story and how my companion and I wanted to try Shawarmas and or falafel. And that I didnt think that his place sold any and that we were traveling since Boston to find a place to eat and he said I heard that time and time again on how no one could not believe his place sells Mediterranean Food. As he said to me, "If he has not tried it he does not sell it." But he asked me which Shawarma I wanted. Never having tried any I asked can I have 1 chicken and 1 beef and..." He cuts me off, " split it in half so you and your work mate can try both?" I was like, "YEAH". "Not a Problem I got this taken care of for you" he said.
I can say without a Doubt it was the most delicious Shwarma I had ever had. And my work mate thought the same. The owner showed that all his food is made from scratch and he makes some of it from home. I plan on coming back to try other foods he has to offer.
TL;DR This pizza joint sells SHAWARMAS and FALAFELS and Mediterranean food and it was delicious....
Read moreI had a very disturbing and uncomfortable experience at this pizza shop yesterday that I feel others, especially families, should be aware of. I went with my young daughter and a friend, and although we spent about $45 on pizza, drinks, and chicken broccoli Alfredo ziti, what happened during our visit left us shocked. The owner brought our food over personally, and from the start, his behavior was overly familiar with our children. He grabbed my friendâs young sonâs nose in a playful but intrusive way, which already made us uncomfortable. Then he looked at my 7-year-old daughter and said, âYouâre dirty,â seemingly thinking she had just come from the zoo. I told him that she has a skin condition. He claimed to feel bad, but the comment was extremely hurtful. What happened next was even more inappropriate when he brought over the Alfredo dish, he leaned in and kissed my daughter on the cheek. She was confused and even asked me afterward, âWhy did he kiss me?â As a parent, that moment was upsetting and unacceptable. I immediately confronted him and told him itâs not okay to kiss little girls he doesnât know. He tried to downplay it by saying he has a wife and grandson, but that does not excuse such behavior. He only acknowledged the comment about her skin, but when my friend reminded him about the kiss, he failed to offer a real apology or even recognize how wrong it was. This experience was deeply unsettling. A childâs personal space and safety should always be respected no matter the intentions. What happened here crossed a serious line. I would not recommend this restaurant to other families, and I hope the owner reflects seriously on how his actions...
Read moreThis is the first time I am writing a review but after the experience that my family and I had its absolutely necessary! So thinking this place is right down the street, convince is key, after our sons baseball game ending 7 we called and placed an order for a sandwich kids chicken fingers and a salad. Called and asked where our food was after waiting 30 minutes this is what was said to us "our delivery driver is out of town he's not in the area" no apologies not informed before that it was going to take over an hour. Our food finally gets here 815. My food (sandwich) has a dirty blond hair in the middle of it. My girlfriends (salad) the avacado was brown old and rotten. My son's (chicken finger dinner) was the only think that was OK odd thing was that it was baked (chicken and french fries) not fried. So after realizing all of this I call to let them know what was going on and that it's not acceptable. The response I received was extremely ignorant and unprofessional. I was told "well I don't know what you want me to say" again not apologetic at all, no sorry or anything!! Then proceeds to tell me " if you want the money for the sandwitch you can drive to get it" WORST PLACE AND EVEN WHEN I HAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE I ALWAYS TRY AGAIN. PEOPLE DO MAKE MISTAKES BUT THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH YOUR...
