Bangkok Thai Restaurant is an outstanding Thai food restaurant. It is worth your time to travel to Stow, Ohio, if you enjoy Thai food.
I recently had lunch at Bangkok Thai Restaurant. Bangkok Thai Restaurant is located on the east side of Darrow Road/Ohio State Route 91 in Stow, Ohio. Bangkok Thai is a stand alone building in a cluster of small businesses that share a common parking lot. There is plenty of free off-street parking in the common parking lot.
This is my first visit to Bangkok Thai Restaurant. The restaurant is clean with clean restrooms. You walk in the front door and come to the hostess station/take-away counter. To your left is a dining area with booths and tables. If you continue on there is another dining area with more booths and tables. The restrooms are off a hallway from the second dining room. The kitchen is behind and to the left of the hostess/take-away counter. A full wall with a pass thru window separates the dining area from the kitchen.
Becky is my server and is very friendly. She provided great service during my visit. All my food came piping hot to the table. See videos posted under the photo tab. I had unsweetened ice tea to drink and my glass was never empty.
I started my meal with the Tom Yum Tofu soup. The broth is great tasting with a little spicy heat. There are plenty of fresh vegetables and bite-sized tofu cubes in the spicy broth. YUM! Next, I enjoyed the Veggie Roll appetizer. It comes with a little cup of sweet sauce and a little cup of a SPICY hot mustard sauce. The Veggie Roll rests on a few pieces of raw cabbage. The Veggie Roll is served in a hot - temperature - crispy wrap. Each bite of the Veggie Roll has great flavor. Some with a dab of sweet sauce other bites with a dab - a tiny dab - of the SPICY hot mustard sauce. I enjoyed the depth of flavor of my entree - Szechuan Vegetable served with white rice. The dish is spicy - not too spicy. The flavor brings an enjoyable level of spicy heat. You are not breaking out in a sweat. You know you are enjoying a consistent level of spice with each bite. The freshness and bite of the vegetables is excellent. No soggy flavorless veggies in THIS dish. Every item is served on dishes with nice knives and forks. No cardboard/plastic plates nor plasticware here. You can tell by the service and quality of food that the staff take pride in what they serve. I will be back for another great tasting meal at Bangkok Thai Restaurant.
When I entered the restaurant other folks were dining in. While I enjoyed my meal, other folks came in to the restaurant to dine in. Also, several folks came in for take-away meals too. Bangkok Thai Restaurant has a loyal...
Read moreThis was my first time here, and it has instantly become my new go-to restaurant when I travel from Youngstown to Akron or Cleveland. I got the green curry. I chose a spice level 5 out of 5. In my picture, you can see a small salad dressing sized container on the left. I asked for extra spice so that I could make it even hotter. I used about half of it, and it was perfect. I got a little dizzy. An area just below my left eye twitched once. My mouth was hot but not on fire. This is the way I like it, and it was amazing. I give them 5 stars for both the quality and quantity of food. I didn't eat again until 7 hours later. I wasn't even hungry, and it was just a snack. For reference, I lived in Asia for 6 years. I've been to Bangkok, and I ate green curry there. I've had the good stuff. When it comes to green curry, this restaurant has the good stuff. I was happy that they didn't skimp on the eggplant like some other places. I got a strawberry cider which was good. The mango ice cream was a pleasant way to finish the meal, and it too was a nice portion size. I will DEFINITELY be...
Read moreAs someone who constantly seeks out the best Thai food......this place was one of the worst!! I ordered the Tom Yum Soup with shrimp and chicken and the Basil Friend rice. The basil fried rice was not even remotely close to a thai dish. It had way too many veggies in it....the broccoli, peas, bean sprouts and cabbage was too much for me. I like it when the dish only has carrots, onions, tomatoes, bellpeppers, and a cucumber garnish. The rice was also very mushy, theres a huge difference between sticky rice which is good for this dish if correctly done and not being cooked correctly making it mushy. It honestly tasted like a cheap chinese version of basil fried rice. And I wondered if there was a chinese cook back there instead of a thai cook. The tom yum soup was bland....and I only had 4 pieces of shrimp.........and a WHOLE LOT OF CHICKEN.....really? I paid $30 for those two dishes. Yes the staff was nice and the place looks good, but I wont be coming back here. The food...
