Nice place, but it has its drawbacks!
First: It's a "SPORTS BAR" with many tvs to "watch only" no sound and the music is loud. I just don't understand why they do this? I realize not everyone is into sports, but it's a "SPORTS BAR" and customers are aware...
So, when there's a game on Turn Up the Volume so the "Customers" can Hear It, at least around the bar area. You can still have music, just lower the volume. There were 3 other people sitting nearby who agreed. But still nothing was done and were told if it wasn't a Friday night. What does that have to do with anything? It was 9pm, only 8-10 people at the bar and a few tables were being served. That's not a huge crowd on a Friday Night.
I just feel that an accommodation could have been met. Especially when most of the customers were watching the Guardians game. If there wasn't a game on, then play that funky music!
Secondly: I do like the food and there is a good selection of overpriced beers. Yes, they're craft beers but paying over $7 a pint is a bit much and they Don't put the prices on the beer list, another tricky tactic for these places. They know if you see the price you'll probably not order more than one. So,...
Read moreservice was good, but in certain items you get exactly what it's called. Parmesan ranch is just that; ranch with a clump of shredded parm on top. steamed veggies are steamed veggies, no butter, not even salted. maybe that's my fault, but that's not usually what steamed veggies are. the sweet potato fries were hot, but they were mushy and soggy, somehow at the same time, and unsalted. the meatballs were so tough I literally could not cut through them with my metal fork. 3 dollars per meatball btw. I have never experienced that. the buffalo chicken wrap was a 5/10 according to my bf, he described it as having "a wet and soggy kind of taste" he got the sauce on the side so not sure why, overall would not go again. almost 40 dollars for a wrap with a side of sweet potato fries, a basket of sweet potato fries, 3 meatballs, and a small cup of unflavored broccoli and cauliflower and sad carrots. maybe I got the wrong things because this place somehow has 4.6 stars, but 0/4 items is crazy, i didn't bother to take pictures...
Read moreWe enjoyed our visit to The Basement! Even my son was pleased by the variety of entertainment on a multitude of tvs everywhere! For a sports bar, it's surprisingly homely and a great place for kids to go as well as adults! My son practically lives on spaghetti and meatballs, yet few places have it, and even fewer do it right... and he loves their spaghetti! Normally, he can finish his plate, yet tonight he had to take half home (which he was pleased about 🤣)! Our server, Emma, though spread thin due to attending to other patrons while helping to clean up after a Guardians game, was very attentive! She was patient, helpful, kind, fast, and precise! Above all, the prices were great for the experience and quality of the food, including our sodas, which we often find taste like the city water ran through someone's change pocket. If you and your family or friends are looking for a place tailoring to sports that isn't too loud or full of drunk, obnoxious...
