Rob's Kitchen — Restaurant in Stratford

My son and I love trying new cultural foods and trying new restaurants! I’m also a “Yelp Elite.”

Rob’s had been on my radar for a month but I hadn't gotten there until a Facebook food group reminded me.

We were welcomed into Rob’s by glorious smells! Also the cool vibe and jewel colors. Of course Bob Marley was playing (on loop)!

Although a sweet young woman, service wasn't the warmest.

At any rate, be prepared to wait.

My son enjoyed a really tasty drink neither of us were familiar with.

I ordered Jerk chicken, rice and beans and yams; he, Curry goat, mac and cheese and macaroni salad.

Our eyes near popped out of our heads when we opened the serving containers!

Overflowing with beautiful, inviting food!

EVERYTHING WAS ABSOLUTELY SUMPTUOUS!!!

The chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce had just enough kick to it. The yams were otherworldly, as were the rice and beans!

He loved his goat (not my thing) and he inhaled the mac and cheese. Not much said about the macaroni salad - I’ll have to ask later.

They accept card, but tips can only be left in cash.

I went to Rob's Kitchen on July 6th. I placed a order for Jerk Chicken, Rice & Beans and Cabbage. I received my food and the portions were pathetic. I actually showed someone working there what I received and they responded I received a chicken breast. I received several pieces of chop chicken that mostly bone. The Jerk Chicken didn't taste like authentic jerk chicken, I have travel to Jamaica and have eaten at Scotchs so I know the difference. The prices are totally out of line for the portions you receive and the venue that is available to sit down and eat. I waited over 30 minutes to receive this food which ended up being very substandard. Lastly, the bathroom was horrible and you see soap in the soap dispenser that appeared to be their years. The dispenser is clear for who are wondering. I have given this establishment 1 star because there isn't the option to given them none. I will never eat here again or recommend this...

My first visit to Rob's was on Easter and the food was absolutely phenomenal! The fish was fresh and seasoned well. The cabbage was also fresh and succulant but the star of the show was the mac & cheese!!! It was cheesey, moist and baked just right. Now let's move on to the amazing customer service. The young lady at the counter was patient and welcoming. Also, the cook on duty was pleasant and greeted us immediately. The restaurant was very clean and the music they played added a nice touch to my meal. In fact, I was so pleased with my meal that I told the young lady at the register to tell the cooks that the food was so good and that I felt like I was eating a plate made with love by my grandmother who made EXCELLENT food!
