An Unforgettable Lunch Buffet at D’s Specialty House
As a fellow restaurant professional, I have high standards for what makes a great dining experience, and D’s Specialty House has truly earned my admiration. If you haven’t yet tried their lunch buffet, you are missing out on a true gem!
The buffet is an absolute feast for the senses, offering a variety of comfort food staples, but it’s their meatloaf and chicken fried steak that really steal the show. The meatloaf is perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor, while the chicken fried steak has that perfect crispy coating, and is cooked to perfection every time.
But what really sets D’s Specialty House apart is their gravy—it’s hands down the best gravy I’ve ever tasted. Rich, creamy, and velvety smooth, it complements everything from the fried chicken to mashed potatoes, to the house rolls, elevating every bite. I seriously could have drank the gravy. So good!
And don’t even think about leaving without saving room for dessert! The peanut butter pie is an absolute must-try. With its rich, creamy filling and a perfect balance of sweetness and peanut butter flavor, it’s the kind of dessert that will have you coming back for more.
The buffet is constantly stocked with fresh, piping hot dishes, and the staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that your experience is nothing short of excellent. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a quick, satisfying lunch or a leisurely midday meal with friends or colleagues.
If you’re looking for hearty, delicious comfort food served with a side of Southern hospitality, make sure to visit D’s Specialty House. Their lunch buffet is an absolute must-try, and I’m confident you’ll be as hooked as I am. Keep up the great work, D’s Specialty House—your lunch buffet and peanut butter pie are...
Read moreWe were passing through Stroud and thought we would try Ds Specialty House. DONT BOTHER! It was marginal at best. We had the buffet for $15.99. The salad bar was the best part but the lettuce was empty when I went to make my salad. I finally got the salad and it was fresh and decent, not a huge selection. The food bar was a different story. The ribs were TOUGH and the steak was smoked, thin and overcooked. The chicken was overcooked and the fish was very fishy. I ate a lil and didn’t complain but we decided to order desert. We ordered a piece of coconut pie and chocolate pie. The coconut was very good but the chocolate was horrible. It was sticky and bitter. We asked that it be taken off the ticket and they would NOT! They said we had to “trade” it for something else. Ok, we said coconut, they were out….lemon….they were out. We finally settled for a piece of cheesecake. The service was horrible and the issue resolution was non-existent. They’ve had the same owner since 1987 and maybe that’s the best they have in Stroud but I will never go back and just wanted to warn others…it’s not good! Try...
Read moreHands down one of the best places in stroud, or in my opinion, Oklahoma. D is a wonderful lady, and an even better boss. Everyone you meet as you walk through the door will welcome you with a smile, and amazing service. The waitresses are one of a kind, and don’t even get me started on the cooks/kitchen staff, they’re great! Everyone here has a great personality and is super kind and willing to have a conversation with you(as long as you don’t try to stop them in the middle of the lunch rush lol... they have a buffet to keep full and orders to fill after all). Definitely one of my number one recommended places if you need somewhere for lunch or, a Friday night out, since they’re now open until 8pm on fridays with steak and baked potatoes added to their already amazing buffet! Great food, great atmosphere, great people, great place. Give it a chance if you haven’t already. It’s just like momma used to make (just a little more...
