Nothing particularly wrong with this downtown Stuart sweet shop, but imho there is nothing particularly special either.
The look and vibe of the place really feels like a step back in time and the staff are friendly and helpful, but it's the shop itself that just seems sort of middling.
By my experience, the Gelato was tasty While the ice cream was fair. The chocolates were okay, though too many of them had that dusty look to them, called chocolate bloom, that often comes from poorly kept chocolate or improper tempering. Can't reflect on the froyo, but did try to get a fresh squeezed limeaide but they were out of limes... So like I said, just kind of a middling experience that is mirrored by their online presence.
For example, as of this writing, their Facebook page was last updated in February of 2019 (more than 2 years ago) and their website said very little and had too many dead links and "coming soon" banners. Lord knows when they even last thought about their web page? Too many places don't keep this stuff updated and it reflects poorly.
Lots of folks seem totally happy with Signature Sweets. I'm not. Your mileage may vary. I was looking for a little something sweet after dinner in the area. I wanted one of their dipped waffle cones but I was told rather abruptly they were out. I should have just gotten a cup because the plain waffle cone they gave me was stale. The scoop of chocolate chip mint ice cream however was great. It was loaded with large chunks of chocolate and my treat was under $5. I really liked that they slip the come into a plastic holder that catches the drips. I saw other people around me ordering the fudge and other chocolate confections that are made in house.
There is another similar chain candy/ ice cream store a few doors down on the opposite side of the street. They are more expensive but I have never had less than a stellar cone from them. Otherwise they are pretty much the same in my mind. I don't think you can go wrong with...
