Lyric Theatre — Attraction in Stuart

Tonight we had the pleasure of watching our 15th show at the Lyric Theate put on by our local dance studio. The director and dancers did a fabulous job!! Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the Lyric staff. The lighting and sound was awful. They played multiple songs at once with many coming on at the wrong time. The lights would go off in the middle of dances and the spotlight was flickering. Our friends in the balcony said the lights were on for much of the show making it hard to even see the stage. At one point, there were volunteers talking and laughing behind us while standing by the stairway and let people go in and out of the theatre as they pleased at all times during the show. I am very disappointed at the lack of professionalism shown tonight by this reputable and cherished local theatre. As parents of children who dance at this studio, we value the time, effort, and money all of us put into these shows all year and always feel honored to perform in such a nostalgic location but there definitely needs to be something done to make sure that this does not happen to us or anyone else who pays a substantial amount to the Lyric Theatre to hold...

Paid a lot of money to see Bee Gees cover band. While there one of our friends sat on step beside me to ask what I wanted to drink because she was going to bar and was going to get for me, and I was giving her money. In meantime intoxicated lady in front of us starts yelling at her. Next thing we know bouncer is kicking my friend out for absolutely no reason. We all ended up in lobby trying to explain she did nothing and we missed the whole concert. Manager Linda and another guy apologized and got all of our information and said they would refund all of our money. Well never happened so I filed complaint t w my credit card company. Lyric then responded we got the services we paid for. I am furious. Will never return after the actions these people took and the fact, they lied to all of our faces about the refund. The Lyric Theatre a landmark in Downtown Stuart. The building of spectacular the staff is wonderful and the variety of entertainment that they find and bring to a little Old Stuart is nothing short of amazing. Every year when we come to Stuart we find at least three shows or personalities that we don't want to miss. A little it is you don't have to sit in the front you can sit anywhere in that theater and hear and see everything that goes on yes that means the balcony to do so don't be afraid if you can't get the first pick seats every single seat there is fine! So go to the Lyric Theatre and make sure you have dinner and drinks somewhere in Downtown Stuart this is an outing you will not regret. Free parking everywhere and a great downtown walk...
