Went to the Obici location tonight because after we spent a long, difficult day in the Obici ER my mother wanted a JM sub. Maybe because of that I'm feeling a bit short on patience for the lame behavior I experienced at this location tonight...??? Doesn't matter - it was a bad experience and they need to do better!
Walk in, music was way loud (I love loud music, so don't even), no 'hello' just "what would you like?" I ordered 2 giant subs. The guy shaving the meet was placing partial pieces of cheese on our subs so I tried to ask for extra cheese like 4 times, but he either ignored me or he could not hear me over the music??? He got out the ham before I could get his attention. Geesh!!! Then he shorted me so much on the ham on one of my subs that it looked flat and pitiful (the guy standing next to me said "Yea, he shorted you".) So the guy admitted that he shorted me then proceeds to short me on the roast beef, as well. The cashier from the other end of the line evidently listening-in says that it looks that way because of the way he cuts it. SMDH...lol Wow! Ya know I was born yesterday, right?! I said that I've been to these shops before, I know how a sub is constructed. First world problems, right? No! Not tonight, honey! It is incredibly insulting when someone who is barely out of their teen years tries to pull a little lie. Big pet peeve of mine! Not working with me! He shorted the sub of the meat that makes a Jersey Mike's sub special, like they are suppose to be and like YOU are suppose to represent!!! Making the subs correctly is why we buy your subs, ok??? Got that? I then head to the cashier to pay and funny enough she told me repeatedly to enter my card... about 8 times it failed. When I was ready to walk, it magically goes through. No tip tonight! Your behaviors are unfair to the other employees who are pleasant and professional like the sweet young lady who was interested in making my sub the way I asked her to. I always tip 20% at our JM's of choice! Not tonight. I was hoping to walk out of there feeling excited about dinner, and happy for a good exchange with these folks, but, after a nasty day, and bad attitudes, it just got a little worse. A real bummer. I hope the district manager see's this. You guys need to learn how to make real Jersey Mike's subs and learn the value of loving what you do! Signed, KAREN JUSTICE ("Liberty" and all...
Read moreAfter we made our order and was waiting in line for it to be made. The lady that took our order and was also cutting the bread and meats. I think she was the shift manager, stopped what she was doing and went to cashier another customer out ahead of us. After handing cash she came back and started making our subs and never changed her gloves. My wife had the speak up and tell her to change her gloves before continuing with perparing our subs. She then slid our subs over to the young man next to her that adds the toppings you wish. He to had just finished cashiering a customer out ahead of us and came back to his work station asking us what we would like on our subs, and again never changed his gloves. Again my wife had to speak up and tell him to change his gloves after handing currency before touching our subs. Never once did we see any of them change their gloves on any of the prior customers ahead of us after handing currency. To make matters worse they not only handled the subs being prepared, but stuck their dirty gloves into the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc. I would give them a zero because of this, but the scale only goes as low as 1. After seeing all this on your food being prepared, I also noticed no hair nets being used. They need to do some serious changes to their food preparation before I ever eat there again. Maybe it's time for the health dept. to pay them a visit on food hygiene preparation. Oh and when you do get to the checkout to pay for your order the total amount does not add up to the menu prices, when you question it, we were told that the menu prices had gone up do to the rise of minimum wage and they have not change the prices on their menu screen yet. Wouldn't this be nice to know prior to making your order and being at the cashier...
Read moreLet me begin this post by stating how much I love Jersey Mike’s subs on a normal day. This day was unusual. I placed a mobile order for an Italian sub and wrote in the notes for the pepper relish to be placed on the side. When I picked my order up, (which was not on the order pick up cart), I looked in the bag and noticed there wasn’t any red pepper relish. I asked the guy who handed me the bag was it on the side like I requested. He asked Ryan (the person who made the sandwich) and he said oh let me put some in a cup. I asked Ryan is he sure he didn’t put it on the sandwich being that there wasn’t already some in a cup in the bag. He assured me that he didn’t. I like to put it on myself because I only like a small amount. Well when I got home and looked at it, sure enough I saw relish. I also tasted it and it was spicy. I called up there and spoke with Ryan and he told me to bring it back. I have three small kids at home, what an inconvenience for something that isn’t my fault. So I asked him what are they going to do for the inconvenience and he said they wouldn’t be doing anything but remaking the sandwich. That is poor customer service. I understand bringing it back, but I don’t understand inconveniencing the customer and doing nothing about it. I live 15- 20 minutes away. Terrible experience on top of the fact that Ryan lied about not putting the relish on the sandwich. Smh Let me also add that this is not the first time this has happened to me at this location, but it’s the first time I complained about it. It comes from not paying attention and rushing...at the customer’s expense.
Update: The general manager did rectify this situation which is why I changed the review to...
