They started out very well but I'm now sick of them as my last few visits have been nightmares:
Third from the last time I visited, I pre-ordered online over 30 mins before I arrived, I then waited an additional 45 mins in store as my dish was finally prepared. Meanwhile, one of the employees gave lip to any paying customer who requested an ETA on their order. I can understand being overwhelmed by orders, but being rude to even the patient, kind customers was inexcusable.
My second to the last time I visited there was a rowdy group of fellas in line that were behaving like absolute farm animals (to put it nicely). Two of them leaned their ENTIRE HEADS and upper bodies OVER the glass barrier to point out to the employees what foods they wanted added to their dishes, almost making physical contact with the communal food each time. Pandemic or not, that's revolting. I was disgusted that their behavior was never once corrected by staff, but I had already pre-paid for my food . . . . again.
Today (the last time I will be going) I checked my bag right before I walked out and noticed that I was not given any pita bread. When I asked about this, I was informed that they were out. Now we all know that the pita bread is not free, the cost is built into the price of every customer's order. The appropriate thing would have been to volunteer a discount or a substitution (such as the flat bread, which was sitting on the counter in plain view), not just wait until your customer walks off and notices too late that they were cheated (as I'm certain at least a few have done today). I kindly pointed the flatbread out but it was not offered as a compromise. My only two options from there were to make an awkward scene and demand a substitution or knowingly OVERPAY and walk off. I'm not at all the type to make a scene, so I overpaid and departed.
That was the last straw for me which is why I finally decided to give a negative public review, as opposed to granting yet more chances. Three strikes, you're out, Mezeh.
Edit: I told you very clearly what went wrong, I literally can't explain it any better. That response shows that you apparently don't even care to read the actual reviews.
Second Edit: If by "take care of this" you mean contact me directly, I have yet to hear anything from anyone since you responded to me. I don't consider it taken care of unless I am spoken...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to like Mezeh, but Iāve gone there on more than one occasion and the service was definitely lacking. The first time I went, they were out of Pita Bread, which also meant they couldnāt make Mediterranean pizzas, or pita croutons(two items that I came for/wanted as a topping), in this same visit, they also didnāt have any steak shawarma ready! It was 11:45am. I would think this is the time of day that everything would be fresh and hot to prepare for a lunch rush. Unfortunately, many people came in after us to be disappointed by the fact that there was a wait for steak and there was no Pita Bread, or Turkish Yogurt Dip. There was also two people working who seemed overwhelmed and embarrassed that they were starting the day this way. Then, today I went and I ordered a Family Pack online, it was promised at 4:04pm, I showed up at 4:15pm and nothing was packed. When I walked in and they asked my name, the cook says as if he doesnāt care, āwe donāt have any steak.ā So, I got chicken. Then he has to call the manager in his cell phone to ask what size box the Rice is supposed to go in for the Family Pack. After he gets off of the phone, another guy walks out from the bathroom and says āyeah they just told me you called them.ā So, he starts preparing the order and heās also shocked to hear that they have no more steak, at all! He seemed to be the only one trained, the other two people seemed careless or clueless, it couldāve been a combination of the two. I feel like thereās a failure on the management or supervisory level because how are you not aware of your inventory, or when peak hours are to have more employees present, or what the turn around time to have food items delivered to your restaurant is? Mezeh has potential, but they need better trained employees, and managers or supervisors that actually check the inventory before they run...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGoing here made me wonder if the service is bad or if I'm stupid.
I asked for something that was on the menu over the service counter (it was a bowl), and was then asked if I wanted greens. Yeah, I want greens, that was part of what I ordered. We then moved down the line and was asked at every step of the way what I wanted. I asked for everything that was part of the original order from the menu. Most of the time the server gave me something I didn't ask for. We got to the end and the server was confused about how to check me out because they didn't know what they had given me.
There were two (probably) more experienced employees gossiping behind the server... I imagine the server was inexperienced but she wasn't given any help from potential mentors because they ignored her the whole time.
I got about 1/3 of the things that I asked for. When the server asked for help to try to figure out how to use the checkout computer I was asked (by one of the others) if I got a falafel bowl. I said I didn't, but I'm pretty sure there's some falafel in there because she was just putting whatever in there.
Anyway, I still took the bowl home (take-out) and the food was pretty darn good. I'm not sure I would go back because of how chaotic the ordering process was but I have to admit the food was quite tasty. I didn't ask for any falafel but the falafel I found in the bowl was pretty good.
So I dunno. Weird experience. Maybe that's on me and I shouldn't have tried to order something on the menu. But if you weren't supposed to order something on the menu then why is there a menu? Who knows, maybe I'm just stupid. ĀÆ(ć)/ĀÆ
Anyway, I didn't get what I asked for but it was still...
