The food was very good and fast and fresh, by the time we ordered our drinks the food came out piping hot. I ordered the carne de asada . The steak was seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of grilled onions. The burrito is covered in this bomb cheese sauce. The salad on the side included shredded lettuce tomatoes and sour cream with refried beans. Let's get to the service we had two different waiters, I think there was a language barrier but he was very nice and handed us the complimentary chips and dip . Then he was replaced by a waitress, she was ok but not very attentive , we were sitting outside a gust of wind blew all of our napkins off of the table , our waitress picked them up , left and never asked if we needed more napkins or drinks, I definitely wanted another Midnight Margarita, maybe I didn't need it .... We didn't see her again Until she asked if we were ready to check out, I told her we would be ready in a little while , she sat the bill on the table and came back quickly to ask if we were ready again , we felt slightly rushed. There was a man that kept checking on us before all of this ,making sure we were ok,he had excellent customer service, I just kept using my one napkin while waiting for our waitress to return, and he's the reason I'm giving 5 stars because he was cute and attentive and the food/drinks were awesome . So yes I'd recommend going here but stay on...
Read moreSo I normally don't post reviews, and I really don't like to complain about stuff like this, but our last experience here was horrible. Matter of fact, the last 3 times have been pretty bad. Don't get me wrong, the food was FANTASTIC, but the service was beyond despicable. We watched our server sit down at a booth and watch a soccer game on the tv as opposed to doing his job. We literally got to the point of putting our empty cups at the end of the table just so he would refill them. At the end of our dinner we sat there, for a solid 20 minutes, with our to go boxes packed up and setting at the end of the table in hopes that he would bring us our check. Finally another server stepped up, shout out to Carlos, and brought us our check. We later learned that our "server" decided that it was time for his "break" that's why we hadn't seen him for 20 minutes. What kind of customer service is that? Who just goes on their break in the middle of a table and doesn't even inform the patrons? This last time sealed the deal, I won't be back to this location, at least not for a sit down dinner, maybe for a to-go order and even that is questionable. Thats okay though, it's his money, not mine. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the food was great. So, in conclusion, if you go there, get a...
Read moreI decided to give La Parrilla a try last night. Being from Texas, I'm always a little hesitant to try Mexican food in other states—recipes and flavors can vary quite a bit.
As soon as I arrived, I was seated in a booth and greeted quickly by my server. I ordered a large Pacifico—my go-to—and was served chips, salsa, and a mysterious white dipping sauce. At first, I wasn’t too sure about the white sauce... but after one bite, I was hooked. No idea what it was made of, but I wasn’t asking questions—just kept eating it. Haha.
Then I saw they had a molcajete on the menu, and that sealed the deal. It’s one of my all-time favorite dishes. For those who don’t know, a molcajete is a traditional Mexican stone bowl that comes out sizzling hot, loaded with a mix of meats like steak, chicken, shrimp, and sometimes chorizo, along with peppers, onions, and a bubbling, flavorful sauce. It’s basically a lava bowl of deliciousness. They’re usually big enough for two, but I’m a fat boy who loves to eat—so no problem there.
All in all, the food was great, the service was friendly and fast, and I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're...
