I love coming here for my afternoon tacos. The food tastes great. Everyone is quite helpful and polite. I feel welcomed everytime I come in no matter who's working. At first, I was bit nervous because my Spanish is not that great, but the employees at front counter were bi-lingual. There's a large selection of Salvadorian food on the steam table. I like the plantain empanadas. The food is always fresh and affordable. It's also a great neighborhood grocery store to make a quick stop for veggies like onions,oranges, and bell peppers etc. I just come here instead of driving to grocery store sometimes when I am cooking . There's hardly any line which is a plus for me. I have purchased fresh chorizo from their meat section and the meat was pretty lean. It also tasted great. I've lived in this area for many years. I have tried barbacoa from just about every vendor around and always return the TRUE Mexican barbacoa. Real barbacoa doesn't give me heartburn from all the spices/ condiments they add to flavor to the meat. you basically end up eating " some type of shredded carne guisada or meat casserole" instead of barbacoa. Today Anna's barbacoa was again a hit! It was amazing. I had to think hard about writing this review , I didn't want to take a chance in hearing "Sorry,we are out of barbacoa!" Great place to shop. Fresh meat to buy and the deli food counter is delicious. Try their barbacoa (bar-ba- coa) the best in the area. Prices are good and keeps me out of the big box stores fighting crowds. I have never had a reason to complain. Great service and always some one there to smile and talk with.
