Cluck Clucks Chicken & Waffles — Restaurant in Sugar Land

I walked into a completely empty restaurant. Normally this is a bad sign but I knew it was just a slow day because the reviews are raving about this place.

The owner recommended the cluck yeah sandwich, and I had quite an appetite so I didn’t heed his warning that many people don’t finish it, and added an order of the Nashville hot fries. The food was solid, and the portions were extremely generous.

Cluck yeah sandwich - 9/10 The combination of flavors and textures was perfect. The slight sweetness of the crispy jalapeño cheddar waffle but still soft inside, more crunch from the chicken and the slaw, generously drizzled with Chipotle aioli and dill Mayo. Only wouldn’t give it a 10/10 because it’s so big that it could pose a challenge to hold and eat, considering the thickness of two waffles and two pieces of chicken.

Nashville hot fries - 10/10 Everything you should expect in loaded fries and then some. Crispy, spicy chunks of Nashville hot tenders atop well seasoned, made to order fries. Chipotle aioli also covered these, and despite that the chicken was still able to build up some heat.

The owner is so kind, he offered a sample of his ice creams but I’ll be coming back to have those in the near future. He did give me a sample of his home made sweet heat sauce, which was perfect for dipping the runaway pieces of food in my tray.

Support this local franchisee, this restaurant was opened less than a year ago and it’s miles better than any National chain...

Cluck Cluck Chicken and Waffles is an absolute gem! As a halal chicken and waffle spot, they offer a wide variety of incredible dishes, and every bite is packed with flavor. As a Canadian citizen, I was especially excited to try their authentic Canadian poutine, and let me tell you—it’s as good as Montreal poutine! The cheese curds are fresh, the gravy is rich and savory, and the fries are perfectly crispy—pure perfection. So good that this time phone didn't eat first. Hehe

And the dessert? Unreal. The mango ice cream was out of this world—super creamy, refreshing, and bursting with real mango flavor.

Beyond the amazing food, the customer service was top-tier. Charles was incredibly cool and helpful—he took the time to walk me through the menu since it was my first time, making the experience even better. And Maryam, the manager, was phenomenal. Our order was perfect, but I saw her go above and beyond when another customer had an issue (due to a misreading on their part). She follows the golden rule and always makes things right, showing true professionalism and care for her customers.

Absolutely thrilled to discover that Cluck Clucks opened in Houston. I used to eat at their Toronto location years ago and missed it greatly. I just finished the meal and it is absolutely hands down the best halal chicken sandwich in Houston. I got the Cluck Yeah sandwich and it is so delicious I can't wait to go again (Juicy and tastes healthier than average chicken sandwich since it is broasted not fried so not oily at all). The meat is full of flavor as well the cheddar jalapeno waffle (instead of bread), coleslaw, dill mayo, chipotle aioli sauce make it a next level enjoyable meal. Topping it with Tabasco sauce enhances the flavor. I also tried their soft serve mango ice cream which is a great finisher and absolutely firm and creamy and full of mango flavor.
