I’ve been a loyal customer here for a long time. I’ve visited many times, brought friends, and even my husband and coworkers enjoy coming here—we usually order at least once a week, whether on weekends or weekdays.

The first time I had an issue was when I ordered flautas, a torta cubana, and two drinks. The flautas were clearly old, full of grease, and soggy, as if they had just been dropped back into oil to look fresh. I trusted them, so I didn’t check until I got home. My plate was filled with oil. I tried calling but no one answered, so I went back. I politely asked if they could please remake it, but they said the cook refused since they were closing—even though there were still 5 minutes left, and I had ordered 30 minutes earlier. Eventually, after I explained I was a returning customer, the cook rolled his eyes but remade it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and kept coming back because I understand mistakes happen.

But today is the reason I’m leaving this review. I went with my coworkers and ordered a large shrimp cocktail, while my vegetarian friend ordered a chile relleno with cheese. They mistakenly gave her one with meat, so she returned it. The replacement was sloppy—there was no cheese inside, just a chile with melted cheese on top. My shrimp cocktail was extremely watery with barely any shrimp, mostly liquid.

When I politely addressed the issue, the first server dismissed me and only responded to my friend about her plate. She called the lady in charge, but again, that person only focused on my friend and ignored me. I had to ask for her attention, and even then she barely made eye contact with me. She offered my friend a discount but only offered me “some extra shrimp” to throw into my watery cocktail. That was not the point—it wasn’t about free food, it was about how poorly the situation was handled.

As a regular customer (and someone all the staff, even Tony, recognize), I felt completely disrespected. The lack of professionalism, eye contact, and basic courtesy was disappointing. Mistakes happen, but the way they’re handled makes all the difference. Management needs to train staff on proper customer service and...

Not very sanitary in my opinion. I've eaten here twice, once for dinner with family (which I got sick from soon after consuming, couldn't even finish my meal I was so nauseated, both me and my family agreed we didn't want to eat here again ) and this morning while I was seeking to find "a place near me that sells breakfast tacos" (as I told my GPS) Unknowingly, it ended up being the same sketchy restaurant that I said I didn't want to eat from again, but because I had just drove 10 miles for some breakfast tacos, was extremely hungry, and I was about to be late for church, I decided to give them another shot. After waiting for a goooood awhile for 2 tacos, I assumed that they were taking their time to make sure they were well prepared but in fact that was not the case. As I got in my car and took a healthy bite of said taco I inquired a rather extra crunchy taste. After getting poked in the gum by the extra crunchy taco and thinking to myself, "did I crack a tooth?" I found to surprise and disgust cracked eggs shells, both in my mouth and mixed with the scrambled eggs of my...

Great food but TERRIBLE service. We’ve been here several times in the last month but last night is the last time. One of the waitresses didn’t wash her hands after using the restroom and went straight to make our food. She ate in the kitchen while she was preparing the food, and we could see her from our table! She kept picking her ear and touching her face, still never washed her hands. Super gross and a health code violation. That aside, our drinks took forever, food came at different times and it was 10 minutes after I got my plate that they brought me the tortillas, which I had to ask for twice. By then my food was room temp. The cheese on the enchiladas was not melted. There were only 2 other tables but the waitress was not attentive at all and seemed like she didn’t care to be there. The manager and other waitress on duty brought us 2 of 7 plates and then sat down to laugh and talk, which they did almost the whole time we were there. It was just so strange. The food is great but don’t want to deal with the bad service and staff again. Hire...

Let me start by saying that we have been coming here for years and have referred a bunch of friends and family here. Up until today we were very happy and loyal customers. Tonight, we got a craving for tacos and decided to come here since they close at midnight. We arrived at 11:18. One of the servers saw us walking up and she immediately rushed to the door to flip the open sign to closed, while pretending that she didn’t see us and proceeded to go to the register to pretend she was doing something there. We walked in and I asked her if she had just flipped the sign when she saw us coming up and she told me in Spanish “Oh, well we already washed the grills.” We were very put off by this. Why post that you close at midnight if you’re not going to honor that?! That’s very unprofessional! We’re done with this place. Never again.

Nice and clean little place. Good flavor a little dry but good 1 stars? I saw in the menu some tacos of one ninety-nine and I ordered three with fresh cheese and an extra tomato cut into pieces at the end I asked for the bill and they charged me 2.75 and 1.99 for the tomato I asked why they said it was a mistake in the menu but that they were going to charge me 2.75 and that I thank them that they did not charge me the cheese because they charge .25 for each taco. I mean, especially how grateful do I have to be? It's not the money, it's the way they never intended to fix anything to rude. Thank you never again!

Taqueria Mexicana Grill and Bar off Southwest Freeway in Sugar Land, TX, has been my go-to spot for years. My favorite dishes are the Migas plate, Barbacoa tacos, and Carne Guisada. I typically eat here once a week, if not more, and they never miss. The flavors are consistently outstanding, and the quality is top-notch. Make sure to ask for their green salsa—it's so darn good! The service is always friendly and efficient, making every visit a pleasure. Whether you're dining in or taking out, this place is a must-visit for authentic and delicious Mexican food. Highly recommended!
