Please take a minute to read my review, i can assure you it’s worth your time.
i went to the restaurant tonight with my 2 girlfriends, now it’s important for me to say that all 3 of us used to work as waitresses in our early 20s , and are extremely patient when it comes to people who work in this industry, and also extremely generous when it comes to tipping, because we were once in that place.
We walked into the restaurant at 9pm, we knew the restaurant closes at 9:30, they told us the kitchens last call is in 10 minutes And we said it was fine and that we just came to grab a quick bite and leave, now i can understand how this can feel a little frustrating as a tired waiter whos been working all day, but you still need to do your job, we all have annoying things happening to us at work, it’s part of life.
From the second we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted with the most terrible attitude, the hostess (I guess) her name is Ari, was so rude for no reason, and within 2 seconds managed to throw her and her friends entire tip away basically. she asked us if we would like a table or a booth, all three of us said booth, now she might have missed that which is ok, but when she sat us down at the table, i told her we wanted a booth, and she grabbed the menus from my hand and said “NO” in a super disrespectful tone, and then took us to our booth as we asked.
Moving on to our waitress who wasn’t super helpful but also wasn’t the worst part of this horrible evening.
When our food came a different waitress brought it to us, when i asked her what was each roll so we know who was the one ordering it she mumbled something under her breath like she wasn’t sure which is which, and that’s ok, but instead of telling me she will check and let me know, she walked RIGHT IN MY FACE WHILE I WAS TALKING TO HER MID SENTENCE, while rolling her eyes at me, and let me clarify again, i can understand you wanting to go home and get this shift over with , but we did NOTHING to you other than coming in a little late than you expected.
Honestly their behavior was absolutely shocking.
The only person that made my review get one star and not minus 10 starts is the manager Mike, once we asked to talk to him and he started handing things, everything went much smoother, like it was supposed to be from the start. Food came quickly, he took out the dish we didn’t like, and was super kind and patient. All of this story could’ve ended so easily in like 20 minutes plus a fat tip if they didn’t hate us from the moment we walked into the restaurant.
Mike was the only reason the waitress got my 4 dollar tip on a 26 dollar tab.

It's pains me to say this , but out all the times I've come here today was the worst . I usually bring all my friends and family here as it's was one of the best places around in terms of service , staff, and food quality. I brought my visiting family as I hyped up the establishment based on past experience. We had fairly large group (7) and had 30 minute wait time. No issues there and it's understandable. The issue we had was the hostess just ignored our group. We waited in front and it took 10 mins to ask for regular menu to view while we wait. Interesting thing there was customers leaving, empty tables, some staff just living their best life. So as we wait for our window to be called . I finally decided to ask status for our group as groups of two were being let in. So what was the response from front desk? I'm busy getting staff to clean the tables, cook, take orders, and you have large group (7). I'm thinking how can customer service be so bad. This is the responsibility of a restaurant. So yes, you should be doing this but I'm asking for status. I spoke calmly emphasizing I just want to know status. No one was preparing any tables. At this point most of the customers left that were eating. Afterwards the front desk person proceeded to talk to folks eating at bar and still not getting the table ready. Completely avoiding us. We wasted 40 mins to watch no one get tables ready in barely busy restaurant and got attitude for asking . Funny thing is I wasn't mad but disappointed by the lack of respect and engagement by staff . Hopefully the experience is better for others that come here.
The problem as I mentioned was not the shortage of staff or wait to be seated. It's the lack of respect and professionalism . If you have a group waiting in your establishment try to be courteous and make them feel welcomed especially if you are at the front desk. Not give an attitude and complain about your job especially if they are just asking about status. This sets the tone and experience for your customers. It was obvious to our group that during our wait no one was preparing a table for the last 40 mins in half empty restaurant. The front desk person was mingling at the bar with another customer. If it was busy as she claimed or our group so large how was there time to do this? Please do better and put folks that can handle the front desk in customer...
Read moreWhat a disappointment. We (party of 2) walked in just before 9pm, sat at the bar and felt rushed and unwelcome from the get go even though they had more than an hour left before closing time (10:30pm).
We decided to go for the all you can eat. Portions are extremely small. While I commend the place on not wasting food it left much to be desired. We ordered a round of sashimi and it’s true as others have stated that it’s literally end scraps of fish. As far from authentic Japanese as you can get. I also found the raw sushi rolls we ordered to be uncomfortably warm and pathetic portions of fish saturated with overly seasoned sushi rice.
Bartender dropped the ball multiple times and we had to keep reminding him of items we ordered and still never received several of them. Last call was approaching and we were still missing items so I tried to get either bartender’s attention but they were too occupied eating behind the bar during service hours.
I understand they’re not robots and it was towards the end of the shift but found this so unprofessional especially as service was very inconsistent. As we tried to enjoy the table scraps we’d been served, a staff member almost served us someone else’s dessert, no issue with that however he then returned to give us a sob story of how tired he was that he hadn’t had a day off in 2 weeks, it was completely random and unnecessary but at this point on par with the theme of the night- uncomfortable and depressing.
As the bartender was about to drop our check I asked what happened with the rest of our order, namely a soup I had ordered and he admitted he forgot and ran to the kitchen. It was too late, which I figured but there was not the slightest effort to make their error right. Hospitality and professionalism is clearly not a priority here.
I agree that they use the all you can eat option to lure customers in but it’s a complete scam. Employees seem to be checked out and hard to find when you go with the all you can eat option.
Definitely stay away if you’re looking for an authentic sushi experience with proper service and ambiance. For the same amount of money you’re better off ordering a la carte at pretty much any...
