I visited this store last Saturday and had a pleasant experience. I find the low ratings quite perplexing. ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
Many complaints seem to revolve around the 2-day return policy, claiming it's somehow sneaky or that the staff is rude. However, I personally noticed clear signage about the policy and encountered a very friendly staff.
Regarding the return policy, considering that these are small businesses, 48 hours is actually quite generous. (Usually it is all sales final). There were signs that states this policy soโฆyeah. Furthermore, they have dressing rooms available, so trying on items before purchasing usually eliminates the need for returns. (Thereโs exceptions to everything of course, but generally speaking) Someone also mentioned the vendors should be there but the whole point of them paying rent is so they do not have to be thereโฆthatโs why the painted tree has staff and thatโs kind of the whole point - I thinkโฆ?
Speaking of the painted tree staff, during my visit, I had multiple interactions with the staff, and all of them were perfectly pleasant.
My .02: It's important to set realistic expectations for customer service these days. Not every interaction will be like a fairytale "be our guest" experience from Beauty and the Beast. ๐คญ (seems like some folks seem to demand or feel entitled to that level of service, but it's unrealistic. Perhaps they haven't worked in customer service recently, which is evident in their expectations)

I purchased 4 tops ($256) and found out when I got home, I had the same exact shirt in my closet (same size, same brand, same color, this happens when you are 73!) Anyway, I live in Bellaire not close to the store. 7 days later with tags still on the blouse and the duplicate which I had purchased this year also. Showed the customer service clerk who responded "we have a 2 day return policy". I emailed the manager/owner who reiterated that policy. I have been a good long time customer to this store as I like to patronize small business owners. I asked if I could get a merchandise credit to use in the future "NO"! At the checkout counter, the young lady did not inform us they did not accept checks. My mom was almost finished writing it out then the young lady announced they do not accept checks. We commenced to retrieve the credit card from my vehicle and returned back to purchase the items. I suggested to her someone announces before a person pays to inform them the method of payment that is accepted. My mom stated, now this is a check I have to voidโ.
