Denny's — Restaurant in Sugar Land

Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Service was terrible. Waiting 40 mins for appetizers, the server tried to blame us saying did we cancel the appetizers, as if her or anyone else, had even came back to our table so we could ask about them. Moving on, we get the appetizer and our food at the same time. Hamburger was super cold, had to send it back and didn’t have time to wait for more food. It was an hour at this point. The service was so terrible, another sever tried helping us, the manager was offering to make food, and food and drinks had to be sent back. The manager told us at that point he would take 50% off the bill. We finally get ready to go, no 50% off on the bill, not a problem since we have to pay for it at the front. We get to the register, we tell the girl what the manager says, she’s going back and forth with us, instead of getting the manager. At this time another supervisor walks up to assist us. The girl is still going back and forth with us AND the supervisor. The supervisor tells her more than once, he has it and please be quiet so he can handle it. SHE CONTINUES to talk over him. At that point I had to TELL HER, that is your supervisor and he asked u to u be quiet, why are u still talking?! From start to finish, it was terrible! The only one who assisted us with no problem was the actual supervisor who handled the final bill, Emanuel. All in all, 5 people tried to assist us, Emanuel was the only help. We gave them way too many chances to get a simple order and drink order correct and they failed!...

I have been coming to this place to eat quite a bit and never had problems but today was different. I even held the door open for 3 ladies that came in after me and allowed them to proceed first. For some reason I felt the vibe was off when the lady waiter approached me. As she was walking to seat me I called out to her "ma'am, ma'am", and know answer. I wanted to sit only 2 seats up from where she placed me but she kept going. I moved to the seat I wanted and asked another employee is it ok where I moved because the my waiter just took off and she said it was fine. Well people started coming in and sitting down and she never came back. The party that came in got there order taken right away and I'm sitting right next to them. I waited patiently for about 10 minutes or so and she never came back. I was still in her section because 2 tables up she was taking there order and delivering. After a while I notified the manager up front of what happened and left out. Sad because I really like this place and had no problems. I haven't decided on going back to this place or not. I asked if you would train all your staff while escorting a guess not to just place the menu down and walk off. I praise all waiters that do a good job because we really do not have that a lot these days. Yes I told the manager and she offered to take my order but I was upset and just left. Came in because I was craving cheese eggs and a waffle.. the moment we walked in we both commented that it was FREEZING COLD. We asked our server if they could turn the AC up a tad, seeing as we were the only table in the entire restaurant, she spoke to the manager, who was within earshot of us, and we watched her as she acted as if she didn’t care. She never spoke to us, she went to the expo window and just stood there. We had ordered a couple appetizers because my boyfriend and I were starving, and while we waited the server did her absolute best to accommodate us. She even let us move to another area that was supposed to be closed (again, only people in the restaurant), which very clearly irritated her manager. When our appetizers came out they were sub-par at best. I always tell people that the nachos at Denny’s are oddly delicious, and I would do anything for fried mozzarella.. today they were both very disappointing cheese on the nachos was unmelted, there was almost no meat, and the cheese sticks were undercooked. Which was even MORE disappointing because the manager was standing at the expo when they came out. We figured that our food would be no better, so we closed out for the apps and tipped our server generously. She was so kind and accommodating, while the manager did absolutely nothing besides exhibit a very clearly bad attitude.
