We saw this place on google yesterday so decided to stop in to try it and maybe get some work done, the pictures we saw on Google looked awesome and it looked like they had a lot of good things to try as far as dessert.
Well, let’s just say it’s better on Google. Friday afternoon and guess what, they didn’t have any of the desserts we saw on Google. We were very disappointed when the guy at the front told us all we have are those right there, and proceed to point us to the almost empty shelf where they keep desserts, it had probably 2-3 not so great looking pastries. So we ended up not getting any desserts, the main reason we stopped by.
We ordered a Watermelon Breeze, a Machiato, and got a Mango Frap. Let me just say that is our own personal opinion since it’s taste. The Breeze was waaaaaay too sweet. Like I had to cringe because it was a quick sugar overload.
The macchiato, it is what it is. Coffee and cream, but have to say it was smooth.
The Mango Frap, again too sweet for our taste. However it was very creamy, very tasty, and again very creamy flavor. If they can do something about the amount of sweetness it has..I think it would be a great drink. Thick, smooth, and creamy.
Service…it was awesome. When I took the Breeze back to ask for more soda to lessen the sweetness , first thing he asked was if I would prefer another drink instead, so that shows they are willing to satisfy the customer. But I said no just more soda and ice would do. And it worked, the added club soda made the drink a lot more drinkable.
The atmosphere is beautiful. Wide, spacious, clean, and decor was very elegant. I wouldn’t mind coming back here to do some work instead of other popular coffee spots. I hope they keep up the standard of the environment...
Read moreUpdate: so I finally got to actually try them out after my 3rd attempt at going there. The first two times, lines were ridiculous so we left. Showed up 10 minutes after they opened to beat the crowds this past weekend. Line had very few people in it which was good. Ordered 5 drinks. Out of all desserts except for a couple, no idea how when they just opened? Anyway, I'm sad to say all 5 drinks were extremely underwhelming both in size and flavor. Why charge people so much for so little AND make poor drinks? The dessert we got was absolutely horrible as well! Like others have said, all hype and no substance. Business model will eventually collapse if they don't greatly improve quality of the products. People who know quality, they will try once or twice and then go elsewhere. For the money paid, the product should be so much better than this, imo. Oh well, at least I got a couple of pictures 📸
Old review: Are some of these 5 star reviews paid for? Sound very scripted. Anyway, took family this weekend. Very long line. Stood in it for over 15 minutes and it didn't move even one person. Meanwhile, I observed multiple staff just standing around as if they don't know what to do. I understand this is soft opening but did you not anticipate a rush due to the hype? Place is visually appealing as others have said but we didn't stick around in line to actually try the products. At that rate, I estimated we would be waiting for 45 minutes JUST to order. Not worth it. Left after waiting in a never moving line and took my money to a close by competitor. Maybe will try later when things stabilize but definitely need better efficiency to get thru the crowds. If I'm going to pay premium money, I expect premium...
Read moreShagaf Cafe is more than just a cafe — it’s an experience wrapped in warm hospitality, beautiful ambiance, and flavors that stay with you long after you’ve left. From the moment I stepped inside, I was drawn in by the cozy yet elegant vibe. Soft lighting, tasteful décor with Middle Eastern touches, and calm music in the background — it’s the kind of place that instantly relaxes you.
Now let’s talk about the real stars — the coffee and desserts.
I had their signature Arabic coffee, served in a traditional dallah with delicate notes of cardamom — aromatic, bold, and comforting. It paired perfectly with the dessert spread, which honestly blew me away.
The pistachio milk cake was absolutely divine — soft, moist, and soaked just right with creamy richness, topped with crushed pistachios that added the perfect texture. Then came the baklava cheesecake — a beautiful fusion of flaky, buttery layers and smooth, creamy filling, lightly sweet with that nutty crunch that hits all the right notes. I also tried the lotus tiramisu, and it was everything you’d hope for — fluffy layers, a subtle lotus flavor throughout, and a perfect balance of sweetness.
Each dessert looked like it came straight from a magazine — carefully plated and absolutely irresistible. The portion sizes are generous too, making them great for sharing (if you can manage not to keep it all to yourself!).
Add to that the friendly, attentive staff who are genuinely passionate about what they serve, and you have a spot that gets everything right.
Shagaf Cafe isn’t just worth visiting — it’s worth coming back to again and again. If you’re a coffee and dessert lover, this...
