Taco Mayo — Restaurant in Sulphur

I was traveling for business decided to try Taco May. I figured it would be fast since someone had told me it was like Taco Casa, which we barely have in Central Texas.

When I arrived I approached an empty register. After standing there a moment, I saw 1 employee at the drive thru window, one refilling the hot sauce containers in the dining area, one standing outside in the parking lot talking to someone (it might have been a shift change 5pm) and one in the kitchen talking to the drive thru employee.

After about 3 minutes an employee came up to take my order. Rather than try some crispy tacos, I decided to get the Taco Burger. Id never heard of such a thing, and figured why not. I got the combo that comes with a drink and potatoes. I was told the potatoes were being made. After a few minutes my order came out.

Either taco burgers are served cold, or mine got cold while waiting for the potatoes, but I imagine it could have been a little better if it were warm. The potatoes on the other hand were hot & crispy. They were seasoned with some type of chili, cayenne powder and were little disc style tater tots. The burger which was basically taco contents in between a bun was cold, kinda mushy and wasn't very impressive. It had ground beef, taco sauce, lettuce and shredded cheese.

The restaurant was pretty clean, some table needing clearing, but other than that no problems. I would probably give this another try, with some of the crispy tacos next time, or the Indian taco.

So my 3 star review is mostly because I've rarely walked up to an empty counter at Taco Bell or Taco Casa, and if I did someone was there in just a few seconds. I don't mind waiting for fresh food, but my other food was cold when served, and the taco burger was just disappointing.

Called up there to try to place a call in order the lady just kept laughing at me when I asked if I could place a call in order, then I ask if I can just speak to the manager because the little girl would/could not compose herself. The manager very rudely answers the phone by saying “WHOS THIS” and at that point I could hear both of them laughing in the background and I did not feel comfortable telling them my personal information. Then the manager lady just yells at the phone “WE DONT DO CALL IN ORDERS WERE SO BUSY WE BARELY HEARD THE PHONE RANG WE DONT DO CALL IN ORDERS” when my dad literally just drove by and saw no one was there. Me and my family really liked it there and have been going for literally years but after the pure unprofessionalism and unprovoked aggression I honestly don’t comfortable doing any buisness with these people again. We stopped at the location in Sulphur, OK on our way home from swimming. This was the worst Taco Mayo, unfortunately. We ordered through mobile app so that to ensure our order was correct the way we wanted (wasn't at all difficult). We get our order and two items were made incorrectly, the Coke tasted like old candy, and cinnamayo's had the strongest "butter" extract flavor- disgusting.
