On my first visit here with my wife I would have given them 4 stars; service was decent and casual, which is cool for place with that desired feel.
On that visit we met one of the cooks and 2 servers one of which did nothing but ask if she could get us things the other had just brought, she was too busy talking to thw cook and people on their way out.
But the food and prices were good and the beer was not over priced. We had a chicken burger and a warm turkey sandwich which was great while we sat out back in open air. Cozy
But on this trip, just me for lunch.. I would give them a 2 star minus. Almost a 1 star.
Again two servers, one cool and the other men minus. Almost too cavalier. Maybe he's an uninspired part owner or owner family, his eye contact and body language suggested I should be grateful he brought me food as he dropped it on the table and shoved it to me.
I had Ordered the Chicken and waffles.. 10:40 a.m. on Friday the 2nd of June ...
Lets say don't do this here, not even if you have no refference point but especially don't if you like chicken and waffles. You'll not appreciate anything but the initial appearance of value when you see a $12 price.
It took a very long time coming, I had to slow my sipping of my beer down to still have some in case yhe waffles are dry, which they looked to be from a box and yes they were hard and dry. The chicken was a little better than McDonald's nuggets but not better than Wendy's.
The butter pads were near frozen and nothing on the plate was hot wnough to melt them, had to roll them off as I ate the waffles.
Their franks sauce mixed with syrup was a food idea.
It was better on the chicken than the waffles of course.
Why didn to ask to have it heated up??? Because I shouldnt have to..
I may come back when my wife or other friends but I'll not be back on my...
Read moreLast night, after driving the Cascades Northern Loop, we set our sights on Bubba's Roadhouse. We had heard about him from a friend who competed against Bubba in a BBQ competition. The decor is true roadhouse, not some corporate designed knock-off.. You won't find a Willie Nelson corner here or servers that line dance while your meal gets cold. This is the real deal.
We found a booth near the bar, and within seconds the bartender came over with menus and took our drink orders. We both ordered Alaskan IPA, a delicious local brew. Waterbunny ordered the pulled beef sandwich with the regular sauce (choice of tangy or reg.) and onion rings. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with hand-cut fries, and a side of mac&cheese salad.
At the rear of the dining room is an open window to the kitchen. We could see the chef cooking our food while we sat and enjoyed our beer after a 12 hour drive through the most beautiful country in the world.
After 10-15 minutes, our dinners arrived. The sandwiches were stacked high with meat, coleslaw, all covered in sauce, placed between gourmet rolls. The sandwich was cut in half and skewered with a long toothpick. Thank goodness for that- our mouths were too small to eat this high-piled treat. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. The onion rings were first class, the french fries were seasoned nicely as well. We cleaned our plates, smiling like children eating ice cream.
After two beers, a diet coke, and all that good-tasting food, our bill was a modest $35.00 for two of us. That is a price you can't beat with a stick.
If you want excellent food at an excellent price in a setting that is as honest as the sign on the outside wall that reads "EAT BIG FOOD", then stop in at Bubba's Roadhouse and enjoy the best roadhouse BBQ in...
Read moreWe have been going to Bubba's for 12 years. Don't let the outside fool you. It looks like a biker bar from the outside but when there are bikers they are very well behaved and polite. Mostly I see families eating there until about 9. And mostly an over 21 crowd after 9. It has the best food in the area. The help has always gone out of their way to make adjustments to our meals when we need them and have always treated us fantastic and made accommodations when we have a large group or our grandchildren. I have never been to a restaurant I have enjoyed more. They have an outdoor area with a fire pit , a stage and outdoor games. They have a live band on the weekends and Karaoke 1 night during the week. Their mixed drinks are very good and I have a special drink with Kahlua,Sailor Jerry's, root beer and cream. They know what we drink and ask us as we come in if we would like our drink. The evening bartender and most of the kitchen help are the same since we started going there has been there since we started going there 12 years ago. They have a pool table, dart board and a few other adult games in the back room. Their food is fantastic and I have never had a bad meal and usually make 3 meals from one order. My husband usually has leftovers also unless he is especially hungry but he usually has two meals...
