Seemingly creative menu - very average implementation
I came across Toasted while visiting Einstein Bagel and saw the crowds and marked it for a visit. Finally got around to it over the weekend.
The menu is very elaborate and creative and led to lots of discussion between my wife and me about what to eat. She chose a "southern Fried Chicken" Benny and I opted for a "Denver-ish" Scramble. The breading on the chicken was think and tasteless. The sauce was not tangy like any self-respecting Benedict is supposed to have. My scramble was supposed to have some fancy Portugese ham but seemed like a regular run-of the mill ham. Eggs were blotchy and quite leathery when served with poor texture.
Only good part of the meal that stood out was the potatoes. The round tubers are unique and taste good.
I would be remiss in not mentioning the most disappointing part of the trip - the "Bloody Mary". I have never seen an uglier cocktail served anywhere. The lime and lemon wedges were dry and brown. The celery stick was thinner than a straw. Who serves a regular soda thin straw with a BM - they need thick straws!! Spicy "house" rim was about 10% coverage. Taste was out of balance and seems like they forgot to add any gin. Wish I had photographed it.
Another observation is also worth mentioning. Las Vegas has 50% capacity restriction for in-door dining during COVID-19 times. During my 30 minute wait and 1 hour dining I never saw less than 75-80% occupancy.
All-in-all - quite a forgettable experience. As a good friend or mine says - "Been There Twice" [First...
Read moreFirst time here. We were visiting my sister who lives in Vegas and she recommended Toasted for our dads birthday. So glad she did. I'm from Orlando and this is the first restaurant I know of that offers brunch on the weekdays(non holidays). There were 10 of us that went on Thursday 3/24 at around 11am. We only waited for about 10 mins to be seated. We were also told that they were short handed but our girl Morgan was amazing. She greeted our table took our orders got/refilled our drinks in a timely manner. So we didn't feel like it took forever. See pictures below of our dishes. Wow so good and such big portions. However we still had room to order a side of truffle fries for one side of the table to share. They were delicious; highly recommend. I had the stuffed French toast that I enjoyed. It did have that hint of passion fruit and I loved it. Also, I had the creamsicle mimosa. A must have. I would have done the bottomless mimosas however the bottomless only included the regular OJ mimosas. Recommendation: The bottomless mimosa price should include all the drinks on the mimosa list not just the OJ mimosa. Other than that, Everyone on the table loved each of their dishes. I also tried a piece of the chocolate pancake, very chocolate-y but not overly sweet for me. Definitely would get that next time and more when we're are in town. This is a must visit when we return to Vegas.
Thank you again Morgan for making our experience a memorable one. Our dad really enjoyed his day starting with our brunch at Toasted and you helped make...
Read moreBrunch has become THE meal in Las Vegas. Tasted is a gastro pub dedicated to brunch. If you're looking for inventive food, wild food pairing, edible flowers and remarkable deliciousness, this is duh place. The restaurant has a remarkable number of creative combinations. Hailing from Texas, I had to try the southern fried chicken benny. A Texas-sized hunk of chicken breast sides atop a mountain of corn bread. Piled atop is garlic spinach in a luscious bechamel sauce, sauteed scallion and two perfectly poached eggs. All covered in benedict sauce. Take a bite of this concoction and there's a firework of flavors. This is enough food for two days. But wait! The plate has the crunchiest circles of greaseless fried potatoes on the planet. I can never look at a french fry the same way after tasting these remarkable spuds. The best part was the chocolate covered apple. It's a tart granny smith dunked in milk chocolate. Sweet and sour at its best! The stuffed French toast started with wedges of fried brioche that seemed a mile high. Fresh berries littered the plate. All were bathes in mascarpone vanilla and fresh whipped cream. I dream about seconds of this heavenly way to start a day. The avocado toast had mashed avovado topped with chimichurri arugula, almonds and a drizzle of olive oil. An edible fresh flower sat on top. The dining room has funky decorations like a full-size cow. The patio, which is enclosed, is pet friend. The Sammy's wood-fire pizza people own this place. They know a thing or two about food service. You...
