Checkers — Restaurant in Summerville

What could be better than hot and fresh Checker fries late night in Summerville South Carolina? The answer would have to be speedier service. So my sister from another mother and I decided to grab a bite to eat after some late night shopping. We ride passed Checkers at first because they only had one lane open and 5 cars in line and opted for trying our luck at the golden arches half a block away but quickly changed our minds cuz both of us were craving those fabulous fries. I decided to try the passenger side pick up window lane just in case it wasn't closed. I then after politely being informed of just that fact pulled through parked and walked up to order. I'm so glad we did walk up cuz we only waited 18 mins for our order versus the car that would've been directly in front of us still hadn't made it to the pick up window. Lil side note for newcomers to Checkers, once you're stuck in line between vehicles you're stuck til you get to the window . We sat at one of the awfully uncomfortable concrete round tables and ate since it was nice out. The staff was as courteous as they were slow fulfilling orders. If I were to offer any input it would be for management to ascertain and implement speed of service improvements. Thank you for the wonderfully hot and fresh fries and sandwiches and sloooowww but...

At around 6:50 PM today, I came through the drive-thru at this restaurant to order 4 double Checker burgers with cheese, no tomato and no onion. The cashier takes down my order correctly, and I pay for my burgers and go on my way.

I take a couple bites out of my first burger and realize that it has tomato and onion on it. I immediately return there and park before walking up to the front window. I wait a few minutes, and no one answers the window, so I knock on it just to make sure the cashier knew I was there. As soon as I did, the lady who was making the sandwiches (the same one who messed up my order in the first place) opens the window and begins to rudely yell at me about how there are only three people there and that I need to wait my turn.

I was appalled to to be treated in such a way. I had initially just wanted my sandwiches remade, but after being yelled at, I was so offended, I decided to get a refund instead. I will not be returning to eat here again, which is a shame as Checkers has delicious food.

To anyone who wants to eat there, don't knock on the window because apparently they don't take kindly to that.

I’m not even sure where to start with this edited review. As you can see I. My original review, I usually stop by here when I’m in town. This time around, I ordered via the app and then the driver of the vehicle ordered their food. I asked the drive through attendant if I could get my pick up order and they told me no. I proceeded to get out of the car and go to the walk up window to get my app order. I was told that the food would take a while to prepare and I would need to go to the pickup side. When I got back in the car, the store refused to serve my app order, or the drive through order and stated that it is policy that you can’t do an app order and a drive thru order. They were also extremely rude. I pulled around to the mobile ordering side and was completely ignored. I had to call to inquire about processing a refund. Again the manager was extremely rude for no reason. Customer service here is horrible! I will never come to this location again.
