Well this was the very first time ever stepping foot into this restaurant. We were greeted by a very nice young lady that told us it will be a few minutes to get a table cleaned up which was fine. As we were waiting though some red headed bus boy who was obnoxiously loud whose name I thankfully don't remember decided to insult me because I was wearing my Clemson hat. And for him to come straight at me out the gate like that without being provoked is beyond me. I retorted back to him that I hope you're not our server. Do you think I came in there with my 9 year old daughter, brother, and sister-in-law celebrating my daughter's birthday breakfast by getting insulted? Out of respect for my family, I let it go. Throughout our entire breakfast we can hear his extremely loud and annoying voice spattering out a bunch nonsense to other customers. Towards the end of our meal he approached our table and asked my brother if he was a coach at Summerville High School because he looked familiar. My brother proceeded to tell him no he's not. But for some reason, this kid kept asking him if was a coach like my brother was lying to him or something. He was so persistent that I interjected with "How many more times does he have to say no!" Thankfully we were just about finished with our breakfast as we left shortly after that. If it weren't for this person, I would have gladly given this restaurant a 5 star review. The food was fantastic and our waitress was just as fantastic as the food she served us, but that one person ruined the whole experience. That was my first and last time I will step foot in that particular Alex's. Words of advice to management... Properly train that person on customer service and teach him to get to know the clients first before insulting them. If someone that knows me starts ragging on me, that's one thing. But I will not tolerate it from a complete stranger whom I've never seen before in my life. Lucky for him I was with my family because it would have gotten very awkward for him. Needless to say, I'll never return to this place...
Read moreUpdate: Today's visit was a huge disappointment... First we sat down then proceeded to wait looking around as a red haired waitress with tats walked by our table several times, made no move to bring us menus. After 15 mins she finally brought our menus..we waited for another 10 mins before she took our drink orders, she brought us our drinks 5 mins later, took our orders, I ordered chicken breast with greens and mashed potatoes, about 20 mins after ordering we received our food...my roommate ordered liver with onions & gravy on the side and mashed potatoes. I received green beans instead of greens, my roommate complained her liver was burned until it was dry and tasteless. No, the waitress did not cook the food, but she should have told the cook, no give my customer liver that isn't burned. A few minute after we placed our order, two men sat down at a nearby table, they barely sat down when she brought them their menus took their drink orders, returned, took their food orders, all in a space of 5 mins, didn't take her long to serve them their food, they were done before we were, but we left first..totally pissed off.😡 Another complaint they need to step up their menu, add new meals..after 6 yrs we don't visit as often as we use to.. After this visit we won't be back anytime soon. If I could give 0 stars I would..we use to be...
Read moreI'm from out of town and have visited twice this week in the morning time. Both times there was a lady in the kitchen with glasses who was throwing plates of food and boxes of food in the window at the servers. I don't know what she has been angry about, but you could hear it in the way she was throwing stuff through the window. Also, there was a server, she didn't have a name tag on but she was tall, skinny, short hair and glasses. She was okay was a server (had to ask for refille a few times and it seemed like she was very forgetful) but her shorts were way too short. She bent over a table and I could see her butt from under the shorts. Very inappropriate for a restaurant that calls itself family restaurant. There were two other ladies working and I think i overheard they were mother and daughter. I believe one of their names was Joy and the others name started with a G or H (they did have name tags on but I can't remember exactly what their names were). They were both very polite, personable, and seemed to enjoy their jobs and customers. They were dressed appropriately for their job, too. The food wasn't bad, the French toast was good. I just wanted to make someone aware of the issues I noticed being...
