Very aggressive and rude staff ruined our experience. For a place they told us are "known for their burgers", the burger was very bland in flavor just overall disappointing and mediocre at best but priced well. This is a long review but unfortunately felt needed because of the just terrible experience. We seek out local restaurants such as: hole in the wall places, small mom and pops, and dive bars. Always try to keep it local. We originally stumbled opon this location by searching local irish pubs and selected this restaurant specifically to try the "loaded Irish potatoes" that is offered as a fries or tots dish, currently listed on their actual website. Our local friend in our group with us had explained they had recently rebranded with a new name and concept which we thought was very cute and were really excited to try this dish. We were not acknowledged or greeted when we arrived and the menu was a special brunch menu because it was before 3pm on the weekend. No biggie at all, we understood and planned to come back at a later date to try the regular menu. So we asked a few questions about the brunch menu, then decided to order the breakfast loaded tots as an appetizer and asked for more time so we could regroup to figure out what we all wanted now since we had already preselected items to share before arriving based off the regular menu. Again, no biggie at all. This is where it started to go completely sideways. Next thing we know, a new server comes up to our table SEVERAL times within just a few minutes with a very pushy and rude attitude asking what our issue was and explaining they are not an Irish pub anymore. She did offer to see if the kitchen had bbq and could make the dish we orginally came for and confirmed they could which was really nice, but we did not ask or expect this since it was a special brunch menu. However, she kept calling it a different name the "triple p" instead of what was listed on the regular menu on their website as the "loaded Irish potatoes" so we asked what that was because we wanted tater tots not fries. Her attitude escalated again as soon as she heard "Irish" back into this speech about they are not an Irish pub and overspoke us when we tried to ask to make sure those were the same things. She kept saying that we were confused and even suggesting other local restaurants like they didn't want us there. The whole situation caught us off guard and was just completely unnecessary. We ate the loaded fries (not what we wanted) that came out and planned out the rest of our day. When she brought our check she fired off "I hope you find what your looking for". This was the breaking point for us, just so much hostility. We did enjoy the breakfast tater tots but not worth us or any of our friends...
Read moreAlright, so first I'd like to say that I have never heard of this place before a sponsored post on Facebook. I clicked on their profile and you can say it was all over from there!
#1, what caught my heart and soul is the fact the owners seem to be animal lovers AND rescue advocates - what better can you ask for? I saw some posts about helping a local shelter (um, love 💕) and also about the importance of donating!
#2, a photo of a pickle flight. What the hell is a pickle flight? I didn't know, but I knew two things - I like pickles and I like stuff with pickles so I made sure I made a mental note to try it out whenever I went there.
Yesterday was the friggin' day! I meant to go sooner than 6pm but hey, whatever, life happens. My kid and I drove up to The Knot and even though we weren't 100% sure what to expect, it was great! We sat ourselves at a table and checked around - it's a small place nestled in between a few other businesses but has a small lounge area, a gaming area, the bar and a few tables. It was loud(er) in there but nothing obnoxious and the music was good.
We were greeted right away by TJ (remember this name) and received drinks almost before we could blink after requesting them! A lady (I'm so sorry I don't remember her name) took our orders and was so efficient that the food was out extremely quickly! First, we started with the pickle flight - please, God, do not ever take away the pickle flight! They were all SO GOOD and who ever thought about the Kool aid pickle? Thank. You. The main course? Just as amazing as the pickle flight! My son opted for the Southwestern Burchy while I opted for the Candy Jack Burchy (sans jalapenos) - I was unable to take a photo of my son's because he woofed it down so fast (he was a FAN) and I absolutely loved mine!
We ended up purchasing the "Taken/Single/Knotty" shirt and had a small conversation with TJ before heading out.
Speaking of TJ, awesome dude! He was extremely friendly and made me feel right at home like I've known him my whole 36 years of life.
The whole staff, really, was very friendly and outgoing - and thankfully they were attentive without being overbearing (there's nothing worse than taking the first bite of your food and you have a server asking you "HOW IS IT!?" when you've barely been able to swallow it 😅)
In a nutshell - EAT HERE, hang out here, LOVE IT. I'll definitely be back and I'll bring some...

I contacted them last Sunday with an odd request. My 16 year old daughter, Katie, wanted to take her 17 year old girlfriend, Lili, on a romantic date on Valentine’s Day and wanted it to be a burger place because her girlfriend’s favorite food was burgers. Burger joints are usually loud and not really romantic. I’ve seen so many people rave about this place so I sent them a message to see what they could do. I immediately heard back from the owner and she was elated to help out!
Reviews from two teen girls in their words:
They walked in to a quiet little table just for them. They said the candle smelled like lavender and it was perfect for their date. They said they had constant customer service. (They didn’t know that the owner had told me that she’d have her staff keep an eye on them all night.) They said everyone was sweet and funny.
Katie ordered the chicken tenders which is about what her entire palate consists of. She said they were really good and had “real” breading on them. She ranked them a 10/10 and were the best that she had. She said that they are even better than her favorite chicken item, dino nugs. Listen, that’s damn good because we all know those dino nugs “be slappin”.
Lili ordered a mushroom burger. Her brother-in-law is a cook at another restaurant so she’s quite spoiled with really good burgers. She said it was BANGIN! She said the fries were seasoned perfectly!
They both said that they had so much fun playing pool for the first time. I apologize to the owner because they told me that the cue ball got “shot off the table like 11 times”. Guess I need to break out my stick and teach the how to shoot. 😂
Note from a very happy mom:
Thank you to for giving my girls an amazing first “real” date. Though they’ve been together for 4 months, this is their first date beyond a football game and movie nights at my house. You listened to every word I said and made it just perfect for them, right down to one of them being emo and the other emo/goth so it didn’t need to be...
