We went around 2:00 on a Friday afternoon. There was literally no one in there except us at first. After we ordered, I could see that the line of young employees were working very hard on something. It turns out there was a large to-go order, that no one ever mentioned to us as a reason for why this ended up taking so long. Two other sets people came in after us and one was an older couple. After we had waited for about 15 minutes, I asked about the status of our sandwich. The guy went and checked and came out and told me they were just now starting it. A few minutes later someone from the back comes out and gives the girl behind the counter a sandwich. It belongs to the older gentleman who came in two people after us. But it was only half of his order and the poor man got very confused because the girl behind the counter didn't realize he was supposed to have two sandwiches. While that was going on, one of the other girls asked if we had ordered yet. That's how long we had been there. Right as the older gentleman is putting his card away to just pay for that one sandwich, someone comes from the back and brings a sandwich out to the girl behind the counter and I can see that it has our number on it. The phone rings and the girl answers the phone and starts taking another to-go order. There are at least six employees standing around at this point doing nothing but chit-chatting and laughing and honestly, eating behind the food counter where they're cutting meat. And no one else could answer the phone and no one else could ring us up. So we had to wait until she finished taking down that to-go order to check us out. When we opened up our sandwich, I will admit that it was a large sandwich, but it was very dry. There was no kind of sauce or condiments on it at all, which was unexpected. It just tasted very bland and the chicken was very dry. Overall, a very disappointing experience. We will not be returning.

So this little deli is a great addition to Summerville but I feel like you appreciate it more if you know what you are walking into. It's a typical jersey/ny deli. Thick, fresh cut sandwiches, where you buy a full length and it's enough for lunch and dinner. There are a lot of back home favorites, for me, the real winner is the fact they have pork rolls. For most of us use to a Jewish style deli, it hits the mark, even has the pickles on the counter. This place hits the mark of being an authentic northern deli unlike a lot of the places around Charleston who may keep the theme but sacrifice the size of the sandwich. The only issue you will find here, is the service is extremely slow. Both times I've gone, it's taken about an hour to get my sandwiches. It's most likely growing pains, but just expect a wait. If you can handle the wait, it's a 4/5 and I would recommend them.

I went in for lunch today and was really impressed by the sandwich. I had the Sinatra which was absolutely delicious. When I walked in to see the price for a sandwich was questioning my decision but a single sandwich can easily feed two people and maybe more if you a side of some kind. I ended up eating half for lunch and the other half for dinner because it was so big. They have a ton of great side options including several pasta and potato salad options. Service is a bit slow even when they are not very busy but overall a good experience and a great sandwich.

Extremely Disappointed – Consistent Mistakes & Zero Accountability

I gave this place so many chances over time, and every time, they managed to get a very simple order wrong. The last straw was today — we paid $19 for an Italian sub and specifically asked for extra mayonnaise and extra oil and vinegar. It was clearly printed on the ticket. What did we get? Spicy mustard. That’s it. No mayo, no oil and vinegar — just spicy mustard, which I’ve repeatedly stated I do not eat.

This isn’t a one-time issue. It’s happened multiple times in the past. Even after I brought it up in person months ago and was told by the manager that it was “taken care of,” the next order we got was still wrong. Same exact issue — no mayo or vinegar, just mustard. And it seems like no one at this location is even aware of what’s being put on their own subs.

I called today to talk to a manager — Phylis — who told me they "don’t put spicy mustard on their Italian subs." I literally have a photo showing otherwise. Every Italian sub we’ve ever gotten from here has had spicy mustard on it. So not only is there zero accountability, but now I’m being gaslit about it?

No apology, no empathy, no ownership — just a defensive attitude and a vague “I’ll handle it.” That’s not customer service, especially coming from someone who is apparently one of the owners. If the owner doesn't care about consistent quality or customer experience, it’s no wonder the staff doesn’t either.

At this point, we’re done. There are too many places that get it right the first time — and treat customers with respect when they don’t. Save your money and go...

Absurd

Zero organization to their methods Slower than molasses

My sandwich bread was tough No nuance Aside from very nicely thinly sliced prosciutto Ratio of tomato was miniscule

Just a confusing place ..hate to say

Canolis were pretty good 👏 A couple people looked like they had a head about them but they were just walking through/ around

Maybe they're overcompensating bc I see someone left a review that they treated employees not well 🤷‍♂️ So now they let zero stress confusion rule the day 🤔

I get that it is a new place With basically all new employees who likely had little to no "real" deli experience But someone had to have had a vision to have opened this place so where is the execution

You can't have told yourself you wanted a place where people come in and have to stand around for over an hour to get sandwiches which I mean I get it is complex but they've gotta get stronger people for the slicers and get some focus into their team

Everyone should play a part and all realize their part

the sandwich size is good

The artistry was lacking in the sandwich assembly on the Newark .. but everyone is new still ..I know

Hope they get it together

..maybe the majority of people are impressed if perhaps they have no experiences with delis anywhere in the north

The main complaint I have is the hour and 15 minutes with seemingly no rationale for such

The cutlet in the Newark was a bit haphazardly shaped for remaining in the sandwich and biting also

Sorry guys just being honest

Hope to see some improvement

Will wait a couple few months and give...
